Question about coil builds

I'm not a new vaper. I've been vaping for a couple years now but I haven't gotten into rebuildables. I've been using clearo tanks like ProTanks and the Aspire Nautilus. I'm currently vaping them on a ProVari.

I'm getting sick of the inconsistency of these clearo tanks and want to get coil builds using organic cotton wicks. Thing is I can't use a dripper so I'm looking to either a Kayfun (or Kayfun Lite) or the Russian 91%.

I know that the higher the gauge, the thinner the wire and the higher the resistance. But I would like to know this:

Do the number of wraps in the coil affect the resistance? Is it higher resistance for more wraps or lower resistance for more wraps? Or does the number of wraps not have any effect on coil resistance?

Also, does the diameter of the wraps also effect resistance? Is so how? Would it be smaller diameter equals lower resistance or the opposite or no effect?

I know that adding a second coil of the same resistance cuts the overall resistance in half ie: 2x 2 Ohm coils = 1 Ohm effective resistance.

I need to know this because the ProVari has a safety feature that will not allow it to fire if the atomizer is less than 1.1 Ohm. So for my Double Barrel dual coils I'll need each coil to be at least 2.2 ohm but I'd personally like to make them 2.6 so that the effective resistance is 1.3 Ohm.

Thanks in advance for any answer.

Resistance has no direct tie to the size of the coils or the number of wraps. It's the length of the gauge wire you use and the length of said wire. Here is how it will tie together though. You wrap 1" of wire on a 1/8 drill bit and wrap a 1" wire on a 1/8 bit. Because the 1/16 is smaller, you will have smaller coils and more coils. The 1/8 would be larger coils and fewer coils. Both lengths of wire being equal of course.
So the answer to your direct question is no. Coil size and coil numbers don't change resistance....on its face value.
What I would recommend is to get a multi meter and measure out the length you would need to achieve the resistance you seek. Don't measure from the end. Cut a 3" piece or so and start in the middle. Once you find your length, mark off the stop points by bending at the leads. Wrap starting with the first bend and keep wrapping until you reach the other bend. Note the bit size and count the wraps. If you always use a 1/16, you should always end up the same number of wraps for that same resistance.

Ok not sure the kayfun or RBA's are the answer would like to have know what clearos you have tried. Because the Kanger Aerotank and the Aspire Nautilus are really good tanks. I have kayfuns, Fogger v4s and an aqua and i still use aerotanks and a nautilus. I get tired of rebuilding sometimes or am on the road and it's not easy to carry a rebuild kit with you if your in the car and a wick goes south. But if your bound and determined to go with an RBA IMO drippers are more consistent than any other RBA. For a first time rebuilder i need to keep my promise and say this. If you do it get an ohm meter, learn ohms law and learn battery safety. Tools you will want are tweezers, flush cut wire cutters or fingernail clippers, screw drivers, drill bits, several ga of wire i use between 24 and 30 ga, maybe needle nose pliers, wick cotton is great but get organic. The KAYFUN is not easy to build a dual shot gun coil on. The Aqua and Fogger v4 are and get good juice flow and DO NOT LEAK OR FLOOD. Here are two tools you can use: Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

I find a coil of 3mm inside diameter 5 to no more than 9 turns work best but on the kayfuns you will have to go with 2.5 mm to get them to fit good. The wire i use the most is 28ga as i do not go extreme sub ohm.
Lastly check your builds on a meter before firing them up no matter what mod you put them on or you could have a bad day. Hate to see you end up with a burn scar on your hand and/or face or a fried mod and battery.
