Question about ego cartomizers (clearomizers?)

Hello,

new to vaping so please excuse me if this is a stupid question. I bought an ego started kit with the ce4 cartomizer. I was having problems with a burnt taste so I bought some ce5 wickleswick less cartomizers because they said "no burnt taste". They arrived today and I put new juice in three of them. I let the juice sit for ten minutes and got a burnt taste in two out of three of them. I put the same juice in my halo g6 cartos without a problem so its a problem with my ego cartos. Can anybody explain what iI am doing wrong or suggest another inexpensive carto or tank.

Right now iI am using a standard ego battery but did order a variable voltage. (Ego twist) .

Thank you

Cheaper tanks, go with an evod tank. Ce4's is the wick doesn't stay wet, they burn, don't let them get below 1/2 tank, and tip em often, it's a top wic set up and IMHO they are terrible. Evod tanks are a bottom wick set up, so they're always wet...unless you run dry. If you go with evod, every time you take the base off to fill it, make sure the attys tight...prevents leaking.

Welcome to the forum! Evods are good tanks. Easy clean, easy fill and easy to maintain. Never liked ce4's (throw aways IMO) or 5's. One along that size (diameter) of the 4's and 5's os the iclear 16. It's a dual top coil and works well for folks. A little tight of a draw for me.

The iclear 30, my favorite top dual coil, is an excellent tank. 4x as many wicks as the 16 and not as tight of a draw as the 16. It is a larger diameter than the ones previously mentioned but it came with my MVP and I like it a lot..

Another tank to consider is the Kanger Mini Pro II. Can completly disassemble to clean, bottom coil and easy to fill.

Good luck and Happy Vaping!! :vapor:

I have a question regarding cleaning, I have never really done that. I assume you merely remove the coil and flush with water. Can the bottom coil wicks be washed, or will that destroy them?

I've seen people clean them, just have to make sure they are dry... Could cause some harm though I'm not sure

Jill, welcome to the forum. As you see, you've already gotten some good advice for newbies.
Betty, the best way to clean the bottom coils is to remove them from the base and run under hot water. You can also soak them in vodka - many suggest everclear - for 24 hours. Then rinse and allow to dry. With my kanger coils, I take the chimney off, remove the top wick (flavor wick) and do a dry burn. It will return the silica to a nice white original. You can reuse the flavor wick or replace with organic cotton.
