All my menthol flavors seem to taste like toothpaste to me. Is there something wrong with me or is this common?

My wife smoked VS menthol ultralights and she love's the wintergreen we got as a sample from madvapes. She was always a very fussy smoker as far as brands. I was surprised she says she really likes the e-cig and flavor.

nuport, kamel menthol from V4l. 5ml bottles. Its not really bad just tastes like I am brushing my teeth when I vape!!
Unfortunatly I have never tried those from V4L. I HAVE tried NHaler's Nuport and I must say........right now it is the closest to Newport brand cigarettes I have EVER tasted. Dekang has an awfully good Marl Menthol too. I can say BOTH of those are very delicious. Hope this helps some.
I think I'm going to order some darker tasting tobacco kind. I know that sounds wierd but the flavors I have (orange, strawberry, watermelon and the menthols are real bright flavors and kinda losing me). Is the 555 a mellower toned flavor?

I had the same problem with menthols. They either tasted like toothpaste, sweet minty candy, vicks vapo-rub, ... but not menthol ciggies.
The best and truest menthol I've found is from E-Liquid by Halo - check on the E-Liquid Review section of the forum, there are reviews and opinions there of Halo liquids. They also have an awesome "tobacco" flavor called Freedom. I'm a die-hard menthol girl - never thought I'd like any "tobacco" flavors, but this one I can vape with no prob, it's really quite good!
I also liked Eco-Pure menthol from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. Cignot also has a new liquid called Basic. I tried their Starpuffs (it's a really good mocha coffee flavor) and I'm planning on trying a few other of their flavors. I put a drop of one of my minty flavors with it and I liked it mixed with the mint as well.
I have a few fruity flavors I ordered when I started - watermelon, cherry, strawberry - they aren't bad, but I still really can't get into them on a regular basis. I find myself trying to mix them into some of the other "flavors" I ordered with my e-cig starter kit and sometimes what I concoct is pretty good, but I still really needed a good "menthol smoke" that I could get into as a regular all-day taste.
Read a lot of reviews on flavors from different suppliers. It may take a few hits and misses to settle on something you really latch on to, but you'll find what fits you best.

Thank you for the advice Remie! I love Cignot...very caring people there. I will tough out what I have for a couple of weeks and then I'm trying what you suggested thru cignot. Thank you everyone who answered.
