Question about Lithium ion batts

I am interested in making my own mod but can't find any local retailers that sell Li-Ion chargers or batts, so my question is does anyone know of any retailers in Orange County CA that sells these close to the price you can get them online?

I checked Frys, nada. Radio Shack had a 14500 unprotected and no chargers, and searched other local places online and come up dry. Any help/info would help... Thanks.

Check some of the hobby shops

RC Hobby stores go thru 18650's like candy I'm sure urr local RC hobby shop would have some...

even toy stores that sell RC cars and planes might have some.

I'd recommend lighthound.com. Great prices, shipping is reasonable and fast. I haven't been able to find any place local to get the type of batteries we need. Even checked the designated "battery" places like Batteries Plus.

The battery out of an old cell phone is a real treat to mod with, camera batteries too. Most operate at 3.6 volts, and most have mah capacities in the 700 to 1500 range. My best ever mod used a 3.7 volt battery out of a broken ps3 controller!

The 18650's are a favorite batt to build power banks for RC helicopters
also used in laptop battery's...

the other li-ion's get used in all sorts of embedded systems where space and battery life is an issue.

Forthwith, That would be pretty cool. How do you charge it? I think i still have a ps3 battery sitting around here somewhere.

you can get a cell phone battery for a dollar WITH shipping on ebay. and a universal cell phone battery charger that clips on for a few bucks. will charge any 3.6 volt battery. prolly a vaporizer batt to.
