I have a smoktech winder 1300 mah, I understand the battery is fairly large for an ego style battery and may take a while to charge but Ive literally never seen any indication that its fully charged. I have a no name charger, when I plug it up the battery flashes a few times and then stays on, the charger has a steady red light that blinks green every 5 or 6 seconds. I've had it for about 2 months, It's gone dead quite a few times and Ill charge it for like 6 hours and the lights dont change on the charger or battery. I don't want to screw my battery up but I don't know when its fully charged. I'm charging it in an outlet with a wall adapter. thanks.

I think you battery is dying;
steady red light that blinks every 5 or 6 seconds; sounds familiar to me.

mine eventually self destructed in smoke; I had it for a .. maybe 3 months; it wasnt a smoktech winder it was an ego twist type; cant say if it was a knockoff - the label was just "eGo-CTwist", with no manufacturer name on it.

Uhhh I dont know man this thing has only went completely low on me like 5 times max. I don't think the battery is screwed unless its defective. I've heard of people with these chargers and thats just how they charge.

My eGo charger does the same thing. The LED on the charger stays red/blinking green forever. The battery does blink rapidly ~10 times after charging is finished. When I first got my eGos I looked at a lot of "manuals" I found online and one said to ignore the charger LED and use the one on the batt. for full charge indication.

I have disconnected the battery after the rapid blinking and checked the batt. voltage. It appears to be a full charge. If you think your batt. might be fully charged and you missed the rapid blinking of the batt. LED, just disconnect the batt. from the charger and reconnect it and if it is full it will repeat the rapid blinking.

Thanks I just did and it blinked 3 times then back to the steady light. I can't believe it takes this long.

When batteries start doing anything strange be very cautious of them.

I have a battery right now where the light I noticed was on this morning, and I can't get it to turn off;
Its maybe 2 months old and I haven't used it for a month (because I bought myself a zmax and a vamo for Christmas); measured it and it read about 1.2 volts.

I ripped the top cap offf, ripped the bottom cap off, light still on;; I dont want to risk sticking metal inside there to push the battery out the tube; so right now I got it inside an old metal kettle in case anything happens.

One thing that can happen with those ego type batteries is liquid can leak down into the 510 thread area, and get past the center pin and end up interfering with the electronics. Once that happens I wouldn't trust the battery

Can you see the output on the end of the charging cable? It should be the 420 mAh output for the winder. If you are using the 240mAh it will take about 12 hours for a full charge.

From dead, I want to say mine used to take about 6-8 hours on average. As you said, the light flashes on the battery and stays steady. But then the light should go out during the last hour of charging and then the light on the charger will go steady green indicating a full charge.

Good thing is you won't hurt the battery by doing partial charges.
