Question about possible addiction?

We are obviously all "dependent" on nicotine, although I use that word lightly when I think of true dependence. Regardless, there is a connection that exists in our brain that is stimulated by nicotine. Most of the heavy vapers I know expect to never stop vaping. It's a lifestyle for them, and an important one. the trade-off is that you might experience some minor-in-the-grand-scheme-of-things withdrawal symptoms if you run out of juice or drastically cut your nic. Keep vaping.

Do we really think our Nic habit is soo bad ? Now that the amonia and what ever other chemicals are gone it isnt so much of an addiction or nagging as it was, at least for me, seems more leasurlie, manageable, containable, fun even in alot of ways, do we want it to stay exclusive?
edit:Ive never nor will I ever run out of juice

I don't see anything wrong with vaping if you are a non-smoker. 0 nic is the way to go. I quit smoking about 9 years ago. I picked up vaping because the cravings for a cigarette never went away.
As far as nicotine being addictive...yes, very. I took a puff off my aunt's cigalike, to try it and was hooked on nic again. I vape 0 nic, but have a disposable that I use to wean myself from the nic. I only puffed on it 3 times today.
0 nic vaping is great for people like me, that have quit but want to fight that craving for a smelly stick, or for those tempted to pick up a cigarette.
I say as long as it keeps you from picking up a nasty stick, vape away. Just stay away from the nic if you can.

+1. I would feel as though I NEEDED a cig during work and since starting to vape I haven't felt that same urge. It's hard to describe the difference but its definitely noticeable to me.

But if no Nic = pointless vape to the OP then stay away from it all. Pointless is pointless, be happy you don't feel a necessity to reinstate a part of you that's depleting (nicotine). Some aren't so lucky to quit completely so take solace that you essentially never started.

Flavor with no Nic if you MUST vape, like everyone else said.

Blah blah blah

The difference is you are addicted and use it for therapeutic purposes. The OP stated they never smoked a cig. IDK, despite the differentiation of cigs and vaping nicotine is nicotine and staying away is the best thing IMO.

Guys, as addictive as nicotine is, it does have some benefits. Weight loss, increase in dopamine, etc etc.

That said, it's also not INCREDIBLY addictive; a normal cig has ~150mg of nic, all cooked in ammonia, (freebased) making it 35x more powerful. That's like 5250mg of nicotine /per cigarette/. If you vape at 6mg, it really isn't that bad.

But addiction is bad, in any case.

I couldn't and wouldn't recommend that anyone who doesn't smoke start vaping in any way - but I'm not your Mom, and fully believe in "live and let live" so no lectures there. I will repeat what others have said about 0 nic, at the very least. Why start any potential addiction if you can avoid it? I don't care if it's a slight chance or a huge chance but why take ANY chance that vaping nicotine could lead to an addiction? The majority of us here are addicted to nic and I'm sure a large majority wishes they had never picked up that first cig. I've used other nicotine replacement options but none worked for me because I was addicted to the smoking habit as well. If all my equipment broke or juice was banned, would I go back to smoking? I wish I could say no but all I can say is "I hope not". Why open the door to needing nicotine? Vaping is a safer alternative to a lifestyle choice I wish I had never made. I'm grateful I have this option but I wish I didn't need it.

I enjoy smoking other things such as hookah and a certain herb, although i'm not addicted to either in the slightest. Im taking everyones advice and wont touch the nicotine. However, I think I'm gonna try the 0 nic vaping simply because I like the act of smoking. I don't think theres anything wrong with that. Just cause i dont smoke analogs doesn't mean i can't vape occaisonally :p

I have smoked many things before (hookah, ........., etc.) but nothing has really given me the feeling of addiction. Would vaping be comparable to hookah? It kind of seems pointless to vape with no nicotine, but I'll take your word for it.

I don't think anyone has a problem with you vaping zero nicotine, it was the "it kind of seems pointless to vape with no nicotine" that I think people had an issue with.

You and I are the same g3tb0mbed, I never smoked analogs before but I wanted to vape for pleasure purposes, read my signature why I started to vape. I'm using 0 nic only, trust me, I have vaped some juice that my friends gave me and that juice contains some nic, I was just a newbie back then(as all of us were), I have control over nic that time so I never looked back to nic content ever again. So please take me advice as some of us were saying, buy only 0 nic juices.

-Now I know someone that was never a smoker before(which were rare) but turned to e-cigs, Vape on Bro :vapor:

Hi, I'm new to the forums. I just was wondering about the addiction aspect to vaping. I don't smoke cigarettes but am really interested in vaping. I am just afraid of addiction. Could I get addicted to vaping? I only would do it very occaisionally. Sorry for being such a newbie.

You certainly could get addicted to nicotine unless you vape 0-nic juice. People sometimes are meaning different things by the word "addiction", but in a behavioural sense there would probably be some potential for addiction in the same sense that someone might term a behaviour such as gambling addictive ... For some vapers the hand-mouth behaviour is probably significant factor.

Personally i would suggest that you rethink vaping if you are not a smoker ... Since you have more choice and no urgency (as you don't need vaping to replace a more hazardous tobacco habit) at least take the time to make an informed decision before you start - and use zero-nic!

Speak for yourself.

It is fortunate for you that you are only lightly dependent on nicotine. Some of us are extremely dependent on nicotine, although I agree with a previous poster who mentioned it does not seem to be as strong with vaping as with tobacco.

When I look back at some of the things I did/decisions I made for tobacco I am horrified - certainly I was right at the top of any addiction scale with the exception that tobacco use is not illegal.
