I hope I am wording it correctly, when I say plate I'm referring to the flat piece of metal that sits inside of the 510 connector (I guess you could call it a round disc too.) Anyways I'm asking a question for a friend of mine who is on a 48 hour shift with work. He wanted to know what the geneal rule of is for the color of this disc, should it be stainless steel color, a gold color, a copper color etc when you buy it new? He says one of his devices he bought new he's pretty sure had a clear disc in it (stainless color which eventually turned to a goldish color with use) but that he's just received two new devices and these devices came with a goldish color disc instead. He was concnered that they had been used and not new so I told him I would ask here.
I was trying to think back to my devices and I'm really not sure what color my discs were when they were new but since using them, I look at them now and they are indeed a goldish color. I hope he didn't get suckered getting used products for new prices. His devices are all USA made, he doesn't do China.
Thanks guys!
