Hey all , Dhomes has been helping me a lot and I figured I'd give him a break from the Pms and ask on the forum lol - he's prob sick of me. I have a few questions about the Ss wicks and over oxidation
I'll summarize - very new to mesh and oxidation - but vaping for about 5 years
After several tries I was able to hit the coil evenly and all coils lit up nice. I had a good amount of issues with a hot spot on the post but I was able to remedy that by adjusting coils and adjusting distance between top coil and post.
I went through a half tank of VG and I didnt have any wicking problems at all really - my only issue with this setup is the first vape is weak. Im using 32 gauge Nichrome (kanthal is being shipped) and I have a 5/6 wrap for 1.8 ohms (seems like a lot of wraps for 32 gauge )
So when my new juice came in the mail I decided to recoil it for the sake of learning .
I found the coil I was currently using was getting red/hot spots in the center coils after holding fire for 2 seconds and I realized that's not good - but I wasn't getting bad flavor - just muted
So I recoiled and I re-torched wick and I didn't get any hot spots at all - I put thr new juice in tank and primed the wick and still no hot spots after a 5 second wet burn but the issue is
The flavor is nowhere near what it tastes like on a vivi nova with stock silica . The flavor is muted - I'm running this coil at 2.2 ohm at 5 v on my lambo .
I figured I'd have more issues with thr first coil due to the VG juice and the 2 coils running hot right away but I'm actually having issue on the PG juice and a good coil -
Did I over oxidize maybe ? And now the wicking is going to be degraded ? Should I not have torched the mesh again after I vaped a tank ? Best to use new mesh ?
I've been reading the unoxidized threads so I might try that as well to see if my wick is the issue but wanted to see what you all thought.
