Well, tonight I finally solved 99.99% of the burnt taste problem -- in the kayfun vs kayfun lite+ thread, someone asked me if I was sure I was in RMS rather than Mean mode -- I wasn't, so I checked, and discovered the #$%&% factory default was Mean! @#$%&!!!!
So, with the T3S's at least, the burnt taste seems to be gone even if I go up to 8w; haven't tried higher, because I didn't really need to, 8w on this seems like 9w from the vv3's, so I'm happy with it. Still some kind of burnt-taste issue with the protank coil in my Hypertank2, but those coils just aren't as good, for some reason.
I really would not be happy at all with an atomizer running at only 2Ω; hot hot hot, hot enough to burn my lips. I'd want 2.3-2.4 Ω at the very least, to bring it to a temp I could deal with. And I'm not sure I could even make a micro coil; my 7 wrap regular coils are quite compact, but the wraps don't touch, in fact I thought it was bad if they touched, that it would make a short or something. I'm a total novice with things electrical, it could be quantum theory for all I know about it. I'm using this "Steam Engine" calculator to know how many wraps for the resistance I want, given the size of wire and inner diameter, but the math behind it? FUHGEDDABOUTIT! I'm a COMPLETE math ......, and at the age of 52, I really don't think that's going to change, in this life.
And when I do finally start making coils for a "real" rebuildable, I'm inclined to use 7/64 rather than 5/64, to make the wick-threading easier. I have a terrible time trying to get a 2mm piece of silica into these 5/64 coils, so I'd really like something a bit easier to deal with, maybe something I could *see* a little better!
But I think it's true that I should forget about the Aqua, since it really needs dual coils. I'll keep looking around for a kayfun that's not polished, is a decent price, and has a driptip adapter -- the last is a deal breaker; if I can't use something other than a metal drip tip, I don't want it. I use only one metal drip tip, a gunmetal Ming I got to go on my Mini PT II, since the metals on that tank are schizo, with both gunmetal and chrome, and the only reason I put up with it on that is that I use a cinnamon redhot juice in that, and if it can destroy plastic tanks, it probably wouldn't be too kind to plastic drip tips either, and the glass tip I have is too slender for that aperture. But I put that Ming in the crook of my arm for 10 seconds before I try vaping on it, it's so cold on my lips in the morning when I'm vaping that apple-cinnamon stuff.

the kayfun lite thread is awesome and if you do get a kayfun that would be the place. as for heat issues, im not sure what atty your thinking about but a kayfun never never gets hot no matter what resistance you run in it. I have run coils from .6 to 2.0 and there is no difference at all. even with no drip tip on my kayfun I could vape it with a .6 coil and feel no heat from it. the only heat is from the TH which can be changed by the nic levels in juice. as for specific drip tips, with the kayfun lite plus(which is the latest version) you can use any drip tip you want.
