You have to figure out the wicking ability of a coil/wick combo. Running past the wicking ability will result in dry hits. High wattage dry hits are the worst. To run at crazy high wattage you are going to want a large dual or quad coil setup with good wicking. This spreads the heat out over more area (less chance to get localized dry spots) and allows more actual wick (holds more juice and better capillary effect).
Easy way to find the wicking limit is to start low in wattage and slowly step upward. You can normally tell by taste and sound when you are reaching the wicking limit of a given combination. Backed down a little from that point is good for someone who takes a hit every so often or who primes between hits (inhale without firing on tight draw a few times). If you chain vape you want to back down further.
The Atlantis hits its wicking limit at around 50 watts from what others have reported, though this will swing up or down since mass produced coils have variances. What this means is that if you vape it at 100 watts you will be WAY over the wicking ability and get a massive (and very nasty) dry hit.
