So I've been going back and forth trying to find the optimal tightening for my EVOD on an Ego Twist battery.
I know too tight can cause probs with the seal (and I've been through the leaking scenario).. but it seems the air holes in the base line up properly with the window channel in the tank at a certain point and i often use this as a guide when tightening.. does anybody else do this? Also on the battery, too tight seems to constrict the draw and again, when the button lines up with the air hole in the base seems appropriate. I often back off on the tightening to match the window. I'm assuming this was by design but I'm wondering in other's experience if you notice this at all.

I also started experimenting with adding another silicone cap (upside down) over the tube when removing one of the flavor wicks, as leaking had been a problem.. this obviously changes the alignment of the air hole and that 'guide' goes out the window in that scenario. But in general do any of you have a decent rule of thumb on tightening ??

Oh.. also on draw, occasionally getting hot drips of splatter through the tube and i assume it's a combo of pulling too hard and a slightly leaky seal. doubling up on the silicone fitting seems to curb that but any tips that u might have appreciated.

Thx :smokie:

As far as the juice splatter thing, a couple of things have totally corrected that for me.
When filling my evod I always twist a paper towel up and send it up through the mouth piece to catch any juice that gets down the tube. I've read that some use a qtip to do the same thing.
Also, take the base and blow through it (from the end that connects to the battery) into a paper towel.
Between those two things it should take care of any juice that will find its way into your mouth.
Hope that helps! :)

I find if it gets hot after hitting it hard I may get the odd little drop. Depending on the age of the coil I'll add a new
piece of flavour wick after removing the old one. At a certain point in the coil's age though this no longer works for me and I simply put in a new head. I use needle nose pliers on the coil airtube to "snug" the head into the base. This way the head never loosens off allowing multiple refills. It's been working for me but as always YMMV.

OK, had this problem myself. What I did was switch out the bottom part with the wicks. The tube that sticks up can be tightened too, that might be something to check out. But when i replaces mine it stopped that hot dripping problem. (many people i have turned to vaping had a similar problem, so we made a little pow-wow and figure it out) As far as the air intake goes, well, my fix depends on how well you know your tools. I just grabbed up a nice battery operated drill, and using a size 5 wire bit (probably a 1/32" or thereabouts), made the air intake holes a bit bigger:) All candy apples from there. Remember you can always make the hole bigger.... I normally tighten until snug, and next time you fill check all the o-rings and make sure they are providing an accurate seal. Here in St. Cloud, MN we have a great shop (Megavapes) that sells every little thing you could ever need, like o-rings, for your mods. You probably have a similar one in your town, if not online retailers have everything as well, i just hate waiting for shipping. Hope this helps a little bit!

How much to Tighten.

2 fingers tight. Not more not less. If it's not firing, than try picking up the center post on the battery with tooth pick or small screw driver just a tiny bit. Lining up to anything is accidental and that is all.

Gurgling. Caused by removing flavor wicks. Seal on the center posts not sealing. Or E-liquid is too low.
Do not remove the flavor wicks unless you are having dry burns (wick not getting any e-liquid).
move up the seal on center posts and let it seal naturally (its get pushed down when you install the base).
Do not let the tank run lower than 1/4 of the window.

I use small piece of rolled up paper towel to remove condensation from the airway after
a. Filling.
b. after vaping for about 1/2 of a tank.

Hope this helps someone.

Cheers.
