question about voltage

I was wondering what would happen if I put an atomizer that is meant to be used on a 6v device, on a 3.7v device, what would happen? Would it ruin my battery, or the atomizer? Or would i just get poor performance? any help is appreciated.

Hello and welcome to ECF! I would think that putting a high-res atomizer on a 3.7 device would yield very poor performance.

Also to your question, it will not ruin anything except your experience with vaping lol. (it'll be like low vapor low flavor)

Thanks I am looking around to see if I can find a low cost 6v PV right now. Good to know that I won't ruin my 3.7 batteries, if I used the wrong voltage atomizer on them.

nothing will be ruined. a atty thats suppose suppose to run on 6v would be a HR or SR(high resistance or standard resistance).
running those on 3.7v will not be as effective as running them on 4.8v and above. Theres not enough power.. so the ans is. nothing will be ruined. only not as effective like wat u speculated.

It prob just wont heat the coil well, but it can handle more power than ur gonna give it so ur safe..just don't go the other way and put a low res atty on a 6v device, that will prob blow the coil on the atty

Yep everything posted above is correct. You'll just get poor performance out of the atomizer because your 3.7v device doesn't put out enough voltage to power it. If your looking for a great and inexpensive mod to run higher voltages on, I have experienced nothing but good things from my Knight Rider(lavatube).

Oh, first let me say that I have read that using the wrong atty/carto resistance can "Pop" the protection circuit in protected batteries if to much power is drawn at once!

Ok, now back to my way of use - I use my Indugence both at 3.7v with AW IMR High Drain 18650 or a pair of AW LiFePo4 3.2v RCR123's. I have four Smoketec Tanks in rotation, two with 1.5 ohm cartos, and two with 2.5 ohm cartos. At work I enjoy the 6.4v and a tank of RY4 36mg, but change over to 3.7v towards the end of the workday with a tank of French Vanilla 36 mg. At 6.4v I use only 2.5 ohm and at 3.7v I use only 1.5ohm. The other two Tanks are filled with TopVape Black Cherry (1.5 ohm) and Unflavored 36mg nic. I keep a few prefilled Ressurectors and a few Boges, pre-filled as well in a zip-Loc type bag in my lunch box for a change if desired. Some flavors, like Candy Cane, which I love are wonderful at 3.7 but very harse at 6.4, the same for French Vanilla.
