I dunno if this is the right place to ask but its a product I got from cov.

I received the cov voltmeter and tried it on my 5 v simple box mod. Plugged it in, pressed button, and 5v appears. Okay good regulator is doing its job.

Then I put on a 3.2 ohm carto and tried it under load. Result 5v. Okay.

So I take everything off and put carto back on mod w/o voltmeter... Then nothing...

Weird. I put on a different carto, click button and I hear the sizzle. So did the voltmeter fry my original carto?

Oddly if I use the voltmeter again with the "shorted" carto, it works again.

Anyone know whats up? I dunno what amp range the button is.

I just dont wanna try under load again if it might short atties or cartos.

I very seriously doubt the meter had anything to do with your cartos demise. Sounds like it's just not making good connection when screwed into your mod. Happens sometimes when they are screwed in and out a few times.

You can try sticking something like the end of a paper clip just barely in the battery hole just enough to grab it. Then gently try and pull the center part out a little so it makes contact when screwed in, be careful not to break the seal, doesn't take much, you probably won't even notice it moved visually but just a little tension to pull it out little sometimes helps.

Other than that, sounds like your carto just took a turn for the worst at a strange time.
