I was wondering since there are so many "recommended" atty or carto cleaning fluids,
what is actually soluble in what? What is going to only be water soluble, alcohol soluble,
oil soluble, acid soluble??

Recommendations of solvents have included:
PGA - Everclear, isopropyl alcohol, water, hydrogen peroxide
Diet Coke, VG, PG, eye of newt and others.

What we are trying to dissolve:
PG, VG, Flavorings, Unknown Sweetners, Unknown additives (I try to avoid the last)
Cooked on, dried on versions of the above, (could change solublility??)
Burnt on, carbonized versions of the above, (would change solublility??)

So the question is what would be or what mixture would be, should be the best
cleaning solution. An anxious public awaits!!!!

I'm not a chemist, but...

Before I joined 17 months ago, I read some threads by the old-timers.
They were all sending dead atomizers to Sun Vaporer so he could test every cleaning fluid he could think of and then some.

The only thing he found that even put the slightest dent in the baked on gunk was ice machine cleaner.

You'll get a lot of opinions, and here is a summary of mine...
