Question for mods

I have a question that needs asking before I go ahead and just do it, I have a personal blog, not a shop or a forum, just a blog.

If I have a poll on that blog can I ask people here to go there and vote on that poll or would that be considered self promotion?

I am not selling anything, nor am I hunting for members ect.

I would fully understand if the answer is a no, but better to ask than to just do.

Sometimes members have to get permission form ECF Admin to post links of their blogs/ websites, etc. The link could be blocked by ECF if permission not first asked. They're generally fairly open to new sites IMO.
