I currently vape 12mg, cut down from 18 about a month or so ago. I plan on order 6mg next time I purchase which doesn't worry me much but I am a bit concerned with the next cut to 0mg. I'm just curious about other people’s experiences with the attempt to cut out their nic intake. I'm not sure if I will notice the change from such a small amount of nic to none, or if I will go a bit insane like I did when I was trying to quit analogs.
Thanks!

I went from 12mg to 6mg and 0. I don't notice at all. It's nice to have some 6mg on hand in case you get the urge. Some of my favorite liquids are 0mg. Also, if it gets tough, you could combine 6mg with 0 to get 3mg. That could help you out even more

I give this strategy a thumbs up. It's exactly what I did to get to zero. I noticed no ill effects. Much easier than making the leap from smoking to vaping. (But switching to vaping was a breeze compared to trying to quit smoking using the conventional NRT crap like nicorette, etc...)

I do it blindly. I buy various nic levels from 24 to 0 and mix them up. I don't go buy the level of nicotine but the flavor. I never know what I'm vaping, and to me it's all the same thing. I don't really crave as much, I think nicotine addiction is all in your head anyways to be honest... (actually technically it is lol)

I just looked for the heck of it and i'm vaping 0mg nic lmao. I've been using it for the past two days!

I have known people that don't seem to ever get addicted to nicotine, my brother being one of them. He has smoked since he was eighteen or younger and somehow stuck with anywhere between a cig to five to none on random weeks. I was almost immediately in love with cigarettes and it wasn't for the taste I'll tell you that. I'm excited to get some lower nic lvl fluids now!

I read a post about someone that bought the prefilled cartos doing that. Just emptied them into a container and randomly picked them out. Said they didn't taste a difference.

It's very interesting to say the least. I think I'd know, but I guess you never know until you try. I'm really thinking about trying this.

Thanks!

I know people like that too. I guess I'm an all or nothing kinda person, or have a more addictive personality.

I've had no problems quitting anything IF I WANT TO. my ex has made comments how impressive
It is to him. I guess I don't have that many of those particular genes.
That said: switching to vaping (since I still wanted to smoke) was a more difficult thing to accomplish. In that instance my body was craving those stupid additives. Is that addiction or not. Or more of a 'mental' thing? Not sure.
I do know that only my body knows if I'm getting too much nicotine (the racing heartbeats, jitters, excessive thirst, etc). But I often vape omg with no noticible difference -to me-
I think the "blind" lables is a fantastic idea. At least you could gauge your reaction to the lowered nic And see if it's plausible.
On another note: if you do have problems with addiction, you may want to taper a bit slower.

Oh no... lol I was addicted to cigarettes. I've was practically chain smoking before I quit. I LOVED cigarettes, and I didn't want to "quit" unless I wanted to. So I just switched to e-cigs.

The reason why it works blindly using various levels of nic, is because it's the placebo effect. You can trick your mind into thinking your getting nicotine, when your really not.

Also please tell me if i'm wrong, but don't cigarette companies add chemicals to cigarettes to make them MORE addictive? I just feel that e-cigs are easier to not smoke. I don't ever panic if i can't find my e-cig. "WHERE IS MY E-CIG I NEED NICOTINE!"

If there is one issue for which I'm in agreement with the FDA, it's that e-cigs ARE NOT A SMOKING CESSATION DEVICE. Cutting nicotine too low typically results in chain vaping. You will waste money and spend a lot of time vaping rather than taking care of other business in your life. If an e-cig keeps you from taking care of business in your life, then it truly is an addiction much worse than cigarettes.

i've been at 0nic for about 6 months now. the most difficult step was from 6 to 0, though i believe it was mostly mental (and not necessarily the addiction). the thought that i was going without sweet sweet nicotine probably played tricks on me, and it was a few tries before 0nic took. today, i can definitely taste anything that has nic in it, and i no longer like it, or the effects.

Yes. Cigarettes have a lot of other additives in them. Mainly the Maoi's that I referred to (dvap did a whole
Study on it. I'd link you, but I can't on this thing).

Ya know, you can "really like cigarettes" and still quit them. I'm not sure how addiction plays into that. Perhaps it's more a matter of "how strong is your desire to quit" and your own level of will power.

I'm not sure it's not addicted to nicotine. It's more like addicted in a different way. My brother smokes some days other days he doesn't. My father died in a traffic accident when I was very young but, I remember him smoking the same way. I'm not like that. The thing is my brother still gets the cravings and he can't just quit. So, he is addicted.

I don't ever panic if i can't find my e-cig. "WHERE IS MY E-CIG I NEED NICOTINE!"

Exactly how I feel. I do bring my PV with me everywhere, of course, but there have been times when I couldn't get a vape for a while and that urgency never hit me.

Also, when smoking I noticed a drastic difference in the urge before and after I lit up. With vaping, there is not much of a difference between before I vape and after.

Did I explain that right? lol.

I know what you mean. You should have seen my girlfriend the other day. She bought a pack of cigarettes and when she got back in the car she was looking for a lighter. She would NOT start the car until she tore apart her purse.

I reach in my pocket for my PV and realize it's not there. I thought "oh well" as she's looking under the seat of the car for a lighter. lol

I agree with the 0mg. When I ordered my first batch of cartos I was ignorant and got 4mg (thinking -namebrand- lights were the same thing) and 0mg. I love the smoother flavors, as i'm not a fan of TH, but I did notice a bit of edginess when i bothered to check the mg level. Otherwise, I had mixed up my cartomizers and was grabbing at random. The effects took about half the day to kick in (for me) before I would check to see what I grabbed.

If you're worried about the TH that nicotine adds, I've heard rumors - with no confirmation from my personal experience, that the drinking alcohol that people use to clean with (everclear?!) can be added with a dropper.... not sure what the portions are but maybe a drop or few will give that missing sensation to the smoother draws of 0mg. Please, someone else confirm this technique.

Without something to give a nic "bite" 0mg is completely unsatisfying to me. I am no longer a slave to nic, but I am a slave to the ritual. Hand to mouth action, the sensation of something entering my lungs and stinging my throat, and the "getting away from the chaos" that only a smoke break can provide.

I understand what you are saying and I agree. I thought you were trying to tell me that nic isn't addictive and I took you for a fool, sorry about that. I noticed the lack of TH on the swith from 18 to 12 it just took time to get used to so I'm expecting the same thing this time around. I'm ordering some 6mg and maybe some 0mg tonight :)

I have noticed that lack of urgency too.... I was quite surprised the first time I left the house and realized I had forgotten to pick up the PV..... when I smoked if I realized I had left the house without my cigarettes I would have gone back and gotten them or stopped and bought some more.

I always thought having cigs and no lighter was worse than no cigs!

It is amazing how different everyone's reactions are to all of this..... almost as varied as the flavors they like....
