I have so many questions about this MOD I don't know where to begin. Is it ok if I ask them here? Robert at Reos-mods has been very helpful but I'm trying not to pester him too much since the man has a business to run. Currently I have a ProVari (which I really like) but am having issues with tanks not wicking, clogging, etc. on certain juices. Being a nut, it can't possibly hurt to have 2 MODS right?

I've just order the REO Mini 2.0 18490 (mostly because it uses the same batteries at the ProVari.) Lots of questions for REO fans:

1) Will the 2-hole punched 3.2 ohm cartos I use in tanks work on this?
2) What about cartos from 3rd parties like Blu or JC Vea?
3) Does it come with carts to start with?
4) Since it's not "VV," do you find the voltage it is factory set at to be sufficient?
5) Any problems feeding 100% VG thick juice? (This is what killed my tank cartos)
6) Logistics - what if you want to change flavors throughout the day? Do you carry other bottles/carts and wash the tube out in
between?
7) When you start a new cart, do you drip prime it like you would a tank?
8) And most important: Can you all-day vape this thing without disassembling, fixing, tweaking, etc.? LOL

I've found that working with tanks is fine when I'm at home with nothing else to do, but it's doesn't work busy days of work, being out and about, etc. You never know where you're going to be when the tank quits or needs taken apart because it's flooded, burned up or whatever. Grrr. It got so bad at one point, I had to smoke an analog to carry me through the hour of work it was going to take to get a tank up and running. Not to mention the juice that gets spilled and wasted trying to do so. Oy! Vey!

Sorry for the long windedness. I am really trying to quit the analogs and have only relapsed a few times, mostly when aggravated that I don't have a reliable stream of nicotine to depend on. Hopefully this MOD will work.

1) Will the 2-hole punched 3.2 ohm cartos I use in tanks work on this?
No...punched cartos won't work because of the punch. Also, 3.2 ohms would be really, really cool since the 18490 you're buying will only give you 4.1 - 3.7 volts. Most of us run LR attys/cartos on it.
2) What about cartos from 3rd parties like Blu or JC Vea?
Anything with a 510 threading will run fine.
3) Does it come with carts to start with?
No. You'll need either atomizers or cartomizers - 510 threading.
4) Since it's not "VV," do you find the voltage it is factory set at to be sufficient?
See above. Since it's not variable, most of us run LR cartos/attys to get the vape we want.
5) Any problems feeding 100% VG thick juice? (This is what killed my tank cartos)
REOs are MADE for VG and running 100% VG does fine. I use mostly VG (90%) and have NO problems at all.
6) Logistics - what if you want to change flavors throughout the day? Do you carry other bottles/carts and wash the tube out in
between?
If I want to change flavors I just switch out bottles. I don't worry too much about the tube and atty. I just let the flavors blend the first few hits....mainly because all my juices are similar and I don't care.

7) When you start a new cart, do you drip prime it like you would a tank?
You can. I do. But many REO users just put the new carto on and "squonk" juice up into it while they're sucking on it a little to move the juice up. There are different techniques, but it's NOT a problem.
8) And most important: Can you all-day vape this thing without disassembling, fixing, tweaking, etc.? LOL
YES, YES, YES! The battery life and how much you vape will be the only variables. No fiddling once you get it loaded. You'll find it's the easiest vaping machine in the world! (IMHO). Depending on you, you may want to carry a spare battery and/or spare juice with you depending on how long you're out. You'll see.

You've already ordered it, right? You will see once you get it how AWESOME it is. You will be amazed at how small and compact it is. Ask as many questions here as you like.....and congrats on a GREAT purchase. Welcome to REOville!!! Hi, I'm Jan.

Mike....many of us are into "rebuildable" atomizers.....the latest/greatest toy...LOL....and they're awesome. Once you get your feet on the ground with your new little Mini (you're going to LOVE it....did I say that before?? LOL) you may want to look into some of the rebuildable attys available. No rush. One step at a time.

While you're waiting for the mailman (arg!!!) you should just read around our sticky threads and you'll get a sense of things. Your Mini will be mailed with signature required, so either make sure you're there when the mail comes or you'll have to go to the Post Office to pick it up.

Also, the bottle holds 3 ml of juice, so you can figure out whether or not that will be an "all-day" vape for you. I always carry extra juice because I'm a JUICE JUNKY!

Jan: Thanks for the fast reply! Yes, the snail mail....How long can is possibly take to go from Maine to Ohio? I'm sure it will seem like a long time. I can't wait. My favorite juices are 100% VG and I cannot get them to work in tanks, and have spilled more than I've vaped. I can get really clear 70/30 mixed juices to work just fine.

3ml of juice is a good amount. Right now I carry 5 tanks with me at all times, figuring two to three of them will probably develop some sort of major problem and I'll have to switch during the day. Like you, I'm also a juice junky and a heavy vaper.

Does Robert email you once it's shipped?

Congrats Mike on your new REO!

You will get a shipping email from PayPal. It will contain the tracking number. I am in Ohio too, usually get it in two-three days after it is shipped.

You can just buy a couple extra bottles for your extra juice. I just use one bigger bottle and refill.

I only use 100% VG. The REO's were made to use VG since that is what Robert uses! No problems at all.

Watch your tracking and be there to sign, rip that package open and see just how good a REO is!

Bro, the most pleasurable hassle free vape is on its way to you. The good news is that you can use your provary as an ohm meter, so it's not a total loss.

As others have said, getting an Rebuilable Atomizer (RBA) is the next step to taking your vaping game to the next level.

Don't be intimidated by them - I was initially until I got one and its so simple a caveman can do it. I and many others here will be glad to answer any questions ya have!

Congrats!

Hi Mike
I'm a fairly new Reonaut myself. I've had my Mini 2.0 18490 since December.

When I first got it, I had some Smoketech 1.7 XL single coil cartomizers left over & used them for my Reo. They were ok. But I quickly learned that because they were so tall, I was not squonking the juice up high enough for them to perform well. Folks here in Reoville suggested the "Super Shorty" cartomizer @ 1.7 ohms. Got some of those & they work GREAT on my Reo. Looks nice too.

Keep us informed. You're gonna be glad you made this decision!

Oh & btw. My setup lasts all day. I don't even take any extra juice or extra batteries with me unless I'm spending the night somewhere. It's so convenient.

Hi, Mike, welcome!

I have the older mini with the smaller, shorter-lived battery, so I tote two fresh batteries and always have to change once in my 9 hours away from home. The larger battery in the version 2 is supposed to last way longer, it would probably make it all day (but I'd carry one spare for just-in-case). I also tote a couple of spare atomizers because, when I kill one, it almost always dies suddenly and completely. The 3 ml bottle is plenty, it gets refilled once a day, evening or morning.

I think you're going to be really, really pleased. They're simple, sturdy, easy to maintain, and incredibly dependable.

Not to mention that they're backed by a maker who stands behind his mods 100%. That counts for a lot.

Oh, and I haven't tried rebuildable atomizers yet (but am compulsively reading up on them, so they're probably next); I'm all about LR atomizers, mostly from Cisco (Avidvapor).

Hello Mike and welcome!

I'm sure you're gonna be SO relieved to be able to vape without all the hassles. Most of us started on "something else" before finding the REO, and have just found it's rugged, reliable and as "non-fiddly" as you can get.

If you decide to carry spare batteries and atomizer, these have worked really well for a lot of us. I usually get my atty's here, it's a good price and a dependable atomizer.

Again, welcome and let us know how it's going, or feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I don't think dual coil cartos perform very well on an unregulated battery. I like them much better with higher voltage/wattage. You might like them, though.

Awww darn, I ordered a pretty good supply of those too. Now I'm wondering if XL is not going to work well. Oh well, Robert probably wouldn't sell them if they didn't work well.

I love your kitty Melissa!

I have one more question. With tanks and carts on other mods, I was always taught not to get juice in the atty in the center when I'm filling them. Doesn't squeezing from the bottom flood the atty?

Hey Mike

Saw your thread on the general forum. Saw you went with the provari. You are gonna love your Reo. I've noticed that people here don't badmouth other mods but you'll see why we love em so much. The super shorty is a good carto, just make sure you don't use a tiny drip tip.

Use the carto's while you shop and read up on the RBA's. You'll like them even more.

Good Luck.

The juice goes straight up the bottom and into the atty or cartos. You determine the amount of juice. You will quickly learn how hard and how long to press (squonk) the bottle. Yes, too much juice will flood it. It won't take you too long to find the right way to squonk for the atty you are using.
