Question? Gurgling/leaking?

It seems occasionally I'll get some gurgling and when I take the tank off the battery, there's a some juice pooled in the well on the top of the battery. I have the Kanger evod kit. I cleaned out with a qtip and paper towel. Is this a huge problem regarding battery safety and what should I be checking for to fix issue.

do you notice any difference in performance when its leaking? im not sure how could continue using a leaky clearomizer because it just simply doesnt work right in my experience

this is one matter id prefer to be on the safe side of. whenever my kanger starts to gurgle or leak i simply disassemble it and fix the problem. if i dont, it doesnt work right anyway and im unable to vape

It still seems to work OK but I've only been at this for 3 days now... still trying to ascertain what's normal, what's not, and how to fix.

The coil may be loose, in that case just tighten it abit. Also when mine does it I unattached it from the battery and blow down the mouthpiece to get rid of excess juice.
I have also noticed that when the tank is getting low on juice it starts to leak, when I top it up it is fine.
Hope this gives a bit of help. Your battery should be a sealed unit so it should be ok just clean off the juice.

you might notice a small amount inside the connection of the battery this is normal the evod battery is sealed at the top so it should not hurt the batteries , if its leaking a lot and its running down the side of the battery then you have a problem. the power button is not sealed and if you get some liquid in the power button it will cause problems.
changes in temp and atmospheric pressure can push e-liquid into the wick and coil chamber, flooding it and leaking all over.
when i travel buy car over mountains i allways wrap up whatever tank im not using so if it does flood and leak all over its not a huge mess.
anything that goes on an airplane with me is always empty.
condensation will build up in the device one thing you can do is, after you let off the power button keep pulling or inhaling off the e-cig to clear out the remaining vapor. this will help reduce condensation build up.
or clean it out with a tissue or q-tip.

ok so there are several reasons why your evod may be gurgling/leaking

sometimes when you remove the base to refill your tank, the excess liquid around the coil will get into the center tube. To avoid this, make sure the long post of the coil AND the base are dabbed dry when you refill

there's also a good chance you are getting liquid into the threads of the tank AND/OR the threads of the base ring (if its already leaky). Again, to avoid this, make sure dab dry the threads too when you refill

finally, the long post of the coil could be a bit loose. this commonly happens when you unscrew the base a few times from the tank. the next time you are refilling and you dab dry the long post of the coil give it a twist to ensure its not loose

im using the word coil for the sake of simplicity. what i really mean is the atomizer unit

Thanks. I haven't replaced the coil yet. I have two batteries and three tanks but have be using them only three days. I have been checking the tightness each time I refill and I've been rinsing everything when I change flavors and letting it dry.

TeePee, if you have the actual Evod clearomizers with your kit, I've found they will sometimes gurgle or leak like that for a couple of reasons. I usually take mine apart and wipe off all the juice from the Evod topper and also the battery. I just use a Kleenex. Then I unscrew the head, wipe it off and rescrew it onto the Evod, making sure I get it really tight. There is a little gasket inside that needs to fit snugly.

Also, I find when the juice level gets low in the Evods, they tend to do this, so I keep them topped up with juice.

yes if its sizzling when you press the button that is perfectly normal

also, be careful not to overtighten. tighten things enough but dont try to max tighten them. agressively over-tightening can lead to thread wear

My two cents ..Leaks usually occur when user inadvertently loosens tube on rebuildable tanks. A fraction is all it takes. Gurgling, overfill or just a miss of a pour and breaches airflow tube. My experience.

Tightening the head too tightly on the battery can cause the coil to unscrew a bit, and make it leak.

Try this:

1. Take the head off the battery, and take the bottom off the head.

2. Tighten the coil (using the post that sticks up) as tightly as you can into the base

3. Put the head back together, fairly tightly.

4. Screw the head back onto the battery until it is just snug. Don't over-tighten it!!!!

The problem can happen when you screw the head on too tightly, since the torque tends to un-screw the coil from the base, which WILL cause it to leak.

If that doesn't help, and if you have an extra coil-head, try taking a donut off the spare head, and putting it upside down on the coil you're using. This makes an extra seal between the center-tube of the head (that goes up to the mouthpiece) and the tank.

Also leaks occur with higher res coils on low power batteries, the coil doesn't burn off all the liquid.

Mine done that I checked the wick it was tight so I could not find a reason it was doing I have since changed my wick and it stopped leaking.

Yes.....this is so true. Also....take a look at Youtube....there's a lot of good advice in there. All the advice mentioned is great (that upside down gasket thing works great btw).

In my experience, it seems pretty normal for evods/protanks to drip a little bit onto the positive connector. Regarding battery/device safety, I suppose it depends on the device. I know that juice leaking onto Ego's and the like can kill them, so yeah, you would be wise to check it frequently and dry it up. My Pyrex RSST somehow gets juice down to my positive pin on my Provari, and I've pulled it off and had a decent amount of juice sitting in there. Hasn't affected the performance as far as electricity flow, and hasn't caused issues with the Provari. But its also a Provari and the odds of liquid going through the positive pin down to the device is unlikely.

If its a small amount of juice, I wouldn't worry about it. If it affects performance (gurgling) change coils or something. Gurgling bugged me so bad with my protanks

On a related note for the OP, I started with the evod and here is something I wish I had known as I moved along. All tanks are slightly different with their own quirks. All or most of them will become second nature to handle. But if and when you buy a new tank, find a youtube video on unboxing and setting up. This can save you a lot of wondering what you did wrong! I have also learned that unless the coil is just loose, I generally need to break down the device, clean it and use a new coil when it repeatedly gurgles or floods.

Hope your vaping is going well overall so far! My apologies if I wrote too far ahead, but I can remember repeating learning curves every time I upgraded and thought I would offer a tip that might make it easier for you to stay with vaping
