My protank vapes well for couple days, different resistant settings that I tried with cotton.

Suddenly, now it's vapes too hot, to the point that it hit my throat too harsh that I can't vape after 2 or 3 hits. Why?

What I change was the PG/VG rating from 45/55 to 30/70. I don't think this will make any change regarding this hot vape. Tonight, I recoiled from 1.8ohms to 1.6ohms, then 2.0ohms now. Same hot vape, harsh hit on my throat after 2, or 3 vapes. I also enlarged the 3 vent holes to give me more air flow and quick suck to get away from harsh hit. Helps just a little bit, but still too harsh to vape.

If it keep hitting like this, it's useless because it's too hot on my throat, but I know this was not the problem for the first couple days.

Also, I almost forgot to mentioned that this protank also gives more taste suddenly on the tip of my tongue. It didn't have any taste at the beginning. The more taste, the hotter vape.

I vaped 100% on this protank today to pay more attention to it. It acted weird on its own. All morning, it acted fine, ok vapor no taste not hot. In the after noon, it acted up again on it own. I thought it was the low fluid that did it, about 1/2 way down, so I added to full fluid. Same result.
The issue is little vapor and warm vape, too warm... to the point that after couple vapes, my throat gets too much hit that I afraid to vape, and it doesn't provide enough vapor. In the evening on the way home, it vape normal again, cool vape and no taste. The hotter it gets, the better the taste but too harsh to vape. After 1/2 way home, it started to act up. It vaped cool for a while, then it vaped hot, then it vaped cool. When it's cool, lot of vapor. When it's hot, little to no vapor.
What makes it change on it's own like that?

I think I know why and I think I fixed it. I usually cut the cotton wick short, right at the openings of the chamber/mount. Lately, I get lazy and cut it longer on both sides, so it come in touch with the outer edges of the base. I just took it out and cut it real short, right at the opening of the mount. Maybe this makes it not wicking well. Now it vapes fine. Let see if it stay this way.

Do you have a factory coil to try? Might be you've made coils with shorted turns.

Might also be that the change in PG/VG ratio crossed a point at which you just don't like it?

Sounds Like the dreaded hotspot problem, once a part of the coil can glow red even when wet; it's over for sure.:pervy:
There are fixes for it but too many to list in a quick note like this, youtube search for vapor, coil hotleg and see what happens.
Hotleg alone should bring results right here in e-cigarette-forum; forum search. Non resistance wire leads are a common but .... retentive fix.
