Ok,this is all a little confusing.I've watched some video's,and still it gets confusing.I've got about 6 tobacco flavorings coming from FlavorArt
Example 1) If i Dilute .5 ML of tobacco flavoring with 4.5 ML of pg/vg then i'll have a 10% mix right? So if i go to todmuller's online calculator and put in 10% in the flavorings spot that would be right?right? LOL
Example 2) If i dilute a flavorArt tobacco flavor with 1ML tobacco and 4ML of PG/VG then i'll have a 20% mix right? So if i go to todmuller's online calculator and put in 20% in the flavorings spot that would be right?right? LOL
Any help would be appriciated....Thanks

I seriously doubt you are taking 100% flavouring. Because I have some flavours here that are to be added in the permille range, that is 1:1000. And those consist of mostly PG.

Pre-mixes are essential for some flavours indeed, for those in the permille range, for example. Whether you need them, depends on the flavour, though. The permille ones, you can't do without.

However, if you try to find the right dosage, and you have flavours like FA that are to be added in %, making pre-mixes doesn't help. Let's say I make a test juice and start with 1%. If I want to add more flavours, I do so with very small quantities of stuff, another single %, or a few of them, isn't much, and the rest of the liquid stays very much the way it was. If I'd add another 10% every time I want to up the flavour, I'd end up with a vastly different juice each time I add it. You can't really find out the proper dosage like that.

However, if you happen to know how much % you will need, you can make pre-mixes. If, say, you always use 4% of a flavour, you can dilute it 1:10 and you have a pre-mix you always need 40% off. That may be slightly easier to handle, but in the end, you learn to handle those 4% so soon, in my opinion it's just not worth the trouble.

Of course, it does help if you don't start out with drops and "approximately" and the like. Start – from the very beginning – with syringes and ml, and you never really will have that problem. You will get more accurate results that can be repeated every time you try again, independant of dropper bottles, temperature and the like.

Hey Alex,
Thanks for the reply.I think i understand what your saying.
That makes alot of sense.I got this idea from a youtube video where the guy premixed 4.5ML of PG/VG and .5ML of cuban supreme from FlavorArt.So he says that that was a 10% mixture. But then he went ahead and mixed up a 4ML batch of nic juice.HE said he was mixing the flavoring as 2% but he added 16 drops of the premixed flavoring that he just made.So when i plugged in the values into the online caclulator 16 drops come out to 20% flavoring. It just confused the hell out of me.Here is the link to the video, check it out and let me know what you think....Thanks Alex

I understand that cutting the flavoring before using it will make it weaker and allow you more flexibility in how much you use... but it becomes a bit more of a pain to work with. For me, I use one or two drops of FlavourArt tobacco flavors for 6 ml of base to create a finished liquid.

It has been easier for me to manipulate the amount of base to fine-tune the flavoring percentage. For example, if one drop per 3 ml was too strong, I would add more base. If it was too week, I would add another drop and then add more base until it was right. This technique works better for me.

Thanks Yankee,Nothing better than a guy being compared to someone's wife....
Anyway,,
I got my 6 flavourArt tobacco flavors today from Happyvapor.I cut 2 for today,Need more bottles (on the way)Just to let everyone know...
I cut with 5 ML pg to 1 ML flavor. Then i made 2 small 3 ML tests. One with cuban Supreme, and the other with Camel Ultimate.I set the flavoring at 20% in the online calculator. Also cut my unflavored 36MG nic juice to 18MG.It is more managable like this.1 drop of the precut juice is like a 1/4 drop.Anyway, both came out awsome.I kinda like the Cuban better than the Camel, but they both are really good.Damn, really nice taste on the cuban(as i type)
Anyway, thanks for everyone's help.Well, maybe with the exception of yankee..
LOL
