Question on my Kanger Subvod-not working

So I replaced the coil last friday and it just didnt work.

I read up on it and discovered coils sometimes dont work. I used another coil and .... started stinking up the office, a weird burning smell. Lots of vape but man did it stink.

I put in another coil. Not as much vape, not as much stink- but still stinky and not the kind of vape it usually produces.

Can anyone help me out on this? TIA

Did you properly prime the new/unused heads before pressing the fire button?
If not you most likley burned the wicking material.
Fully saturate wicking material by dripping drops of liquid onto wicking material, fill tank, thread base & tank together, let sit for a few minutes.

Which replacement heads are you using? resistance?

Ω - printed / etched on the body of the head.
Kangar makes several that will fit in your delivery device but are for use with Temp control power devices only.
What color o rings are on the head / head = a single replaceable unit, metal body with coil & wicking material inside that threads into the base.

Red o rings on the head indicate nicrome wire in .15Ω, .5Ω, 1.2Ω, 1.5Ω Which resistance are you using?
The .15Ω nicr has been phased out but you could have some, I don't think your subvod would fire them.

Pink o rings = ss wire .5Ω power/watt or temp control.
Black o rings = kanthal wire clapton coil .5Ω
Blue o rings = Ni200 wire, temp control only.

If he's using a coil exactly like the coil it came with, in a boxed kit...it'll be the 0.5ohm coil with a red o-ring. I didn't use that 1 myself since I don't subohm. I'm using a 1.5ohm SSOCC with the red o-ring instead. Just got my kit a week ago, and no problem with that coil in it at all when properly primed and waited to vape it.

There is a big difference between drops and saturate. DON'T be cheap on the priming of a coil head, saturate the coil then take several to many primer puffs to make sure the coil is primed good. The drops you put in might not make it to the bottom of the coil thus taking some primer puffs. Turn the power way down until the coil has settled then slowly turn it up. Most don't need the recommended power settings on the coil head since they are usually too hot and end up with burnt coil real fast.

It is often best to wait about 15 minutes after priming before taking that first vape in order to give the coil a chance to soak up juice on its own. First draw or two don't press the fire button but do cover the air intake holes as this will also draw juice from the tank into the wick. Then the first vape should be small, checking to see if it tastes OK or not. If you were using a regulated mod you'd have turned the power down and slowly worked it upwards but with the Subvod you can't do that.
