I just bought 6 new batteries and I've only had them a couple of days. I now noticed 3 out of 6 already have small scratches on the wrapper. (very small scratches and not deep). No metal is exposed, it's just not perfect. Do I have to re-wrap it? I'm being paranoid.
Here's a pic of one battery scratch, all others are similar. http://i.imgur.com/W8n19jq.jpg
The scratches probably came while handling the batteries from one place to another. Someone please tell me I have nothing to worry about. Thanks.

You can get cosmetic scrapes and scratches just by sliding the battery into the mod, especially if it's a tube mod. No need to worry about cosmetic stuff and just keep an eye on the wraps to make sure they're in good condition.

My 18500 batteries are scuffed up like crazy from inserting them into the bottom of my mechs.

The purpose of the plastic wrapper on batteries is more than just decoration. It acts as electrical insulation between the metal batterey and the metal battery holder in a mod. Should electrical contact be made between the side of the battery and a metal battery holder in a mod, a short can occur. If it is a hard short, the battery could vent hot gas or even explode.

Cosmetic scratches aren't a big deal, as long as no bare metal is exposed. Should bare metal be exposed, have the battery re-wrapped.
