The #1 advantage is that the switch won't get gummed up by e-juice leaking into the battery hole. That is a frequent problem with the "automatic" battery. The manual battery has a sealed top.

As for vapor production it would be the same.

The use of the button will take a conscious effort at first. After a while it will become an automatic response.

Vapor production is about the same.
The manuals have a better seal if you drip directly into the atty.
The manuals give you full control.

Most will press the button early to heat the atomizer for better hit or vapor. The Auto battery comes on when you suck on it, and shuts off when you stop. Common sense will tell you that the manual battery won't have the life of an equal size automatic.
