hey does anyone roughly know how long a batt would last for i dont mean holding charge i mean would the batt last a year or so before it had to be replaced or is it just the attys that need to be replaced frequently ?
Well, theoretically, any Li-Io battery is supposed to be rechargeable around 300 times. Practially, the they start to drop off before that. Plus, you can damage them, for example by leaving them always in your car that's parked in the summer sun.
Very roughly, a 510 battery will last something like three months on average. The eGos will probably last longer, but they have not been around for long enough to say for sure.
"...i know its an odd question im a regular 15 a day smoker so realisticly i should need about 3-4 batt's but im not sure about addys or juice for 9 months XD..."
Understand one thing when you plan: You only get 1/3 to 1/2 the nicotine per drag/puff (per the New Zealand study) from a vaporette as you do from a tar stick. The upshot of this is that, at least for a good while, you will spend more time dragging on it than you did with a cigarette. I know it is that way for me, at least. You, also, don't have the natural "time clock" to take a break that happens when a cigarette burns out and you then decide whether or not to have another. The vaporette will just keep on keepin' on until it either runs out of e-juice or the battery runs down.
I was (until 9 months ago) a pack and a half+ per day smoker and find that a 30ml bottle of juice lasts me 2 to maybe 3 weeks. I run 4ea m40x batteries and also 2ea DS501 batts in cycles throughout the day and use 2 atomizers (one for each of the 2 flavors I vape) at all times with 3 attys in reserve just in case along with the cartomizers for the KR808 series cartomizers that I refill. I have 6 chargers plugged in at the ready just for at work and the same at home. I will NOT let myself run out and have to stoop to bumming a cig from the wife! lol Under daily use, the batts are good for 2-4 months - I'd hope for 3. So, make sure you have extras. I've gone thru 8 in 9 months, though one just plain broke. Make sure you have a good reserve of them if you need to go for 9 months.
Anyhow, the short story is that you may need a lot more supplies than you are thinking. Once you get acclimated to vaping, you'll have a better handle on how much you use but the thing is - if you want to totally replace ciggies - to NEVER be caught without a charged batt, working atty, and juice. I've had half a cig 2wice in the last 6 months. Half because both times, I felt like I was going to suffocate and couldn't imagine how I could have shotgunned 3-4 in a chain during smoke breaks at work.
Good luck!
You will probably do better than I have. When I smoked, I chainsmoked like a freaken freight train and now that I vape, well, I vape like a....er....vapor train?
Heaven Gifts (heaven-gifts.com) is about the cheapest for batts and attys that I've found. Atomizers last a good while if you soak them in alchohol and then boil them in water maybe once a week. The same with refillable cartridges and cartomizers - a good practice to have a regimen of "germ warfare", ya know? I switch between 2 attys every day. One soaks in alc. overnight and then in water during the day while the other is being used. As long as you don't use a pass-thru or run an m40x series atty with a higher loaded-voltage battery like a KR808D series battery, they shouldn't burn out often. The trick is to try to keep the heating element from drying out and accumulating a buildup of hardened e-juice gunk.
With the batts, try to recharge them as soon as the hit starts to get light rather than waiting for the blinking LED to tell you they are fully discharged. The batts last a whole lot longer if they aren't fully discharged much/often. Also, don't leave them in the charger for too long after the LED turns solidly green as overcharging isn't good for them, either.
If you smoking habit wasn't too excessive, like mine was, you might do ok with 4-6 batts and the same number of attys. And juice would last you much longer, too. Stick with it - in a few months you won't know how you ever tolerated tobacco smoke in the first place!
