Hey guys,
...after about half a day they would cut out quite regularly
...after a day they become so tight they're almost not vapable
"I don't always vape cartos, but when I do, I prefer IKV."
I on the other had, almost always use cartos. I've tried a lot and the best I've found are the Fusions. I ended up ordering some quantity roughly equivalent to a ....-ton, and I've been using them almost exclusively (on a Buzz Pro, and an original Buzz before that) for quite awhile now. I even ordered my Buzz Pro with an 801 connection
because of the Fusions. And it's the only combo I've ever really been 100% satisfied with.
So anyway, I've used a lot of Fusions, but never had the issues you're talking about as an issue with the cartos...it's always an issue with my juice (except for the odd and very rare occasional "bad carto").
With really clean juices, BWB Root Beer being one of the cleanest I can think of, I regularly and easily run nearly 30ml through a Fusion before the taste goes wacky and I know it's time to change to a new carto.
With really dirty juices, BWB Cola (oil based flavor I think) being one of the dirtiest juices I can think of, I might be lucky to get 8ml through a carto before it's junked up enough to ruin flavor.
And of course, there's everywhere in between, but how long a Fusion performs seems to be a direct function of the cleanliness of the liquid. Sometimes that makes me sad, since there are some dirty juices I really like, but by now I'm at the point where I can pretty accurately predict the life of a Fusion based on the juice I'm putting in it (as long as it's a juice I'm familiar with). I can't really predict it in terms of hours or days since I don't pay attention to that, but I know how many ml it is going to last me.
The real stand out thing for me is that the Fusions usually don't burn at a reasonable voltage. I've taken many cartos apart, and when they go bad I usually find signs of burning inside around the coil sleeve and even the filler. When I take an expired Fusion apart, I find that the coil sleeve isn't burned - it's clogged up with vaporized juice leavings (dark stuff that at first looks like maybe it's burned inside, but you can actually rinse off the coil wrap under a faucet and see it's not burned...burns don't rinse off).
That's just my two cents, but by now I've been through a lot of Fusions and never had a problem with cutting out at all, or becoming clogged unless it's due to a dirty juice that really needs a washable atty to get the most out of it. I'd suggest running the Fusions around 4 to 4.5 volts and evaluating whether your juice plays well with cartos.
