ok i think i get it now lol so basicly an atomizer with a 1.4 ohm is going to get hotter faster but more than likely not last as long as a 2.5 ohm carto, and a 2.5 will tak a lot longer to get hot but last longer?
You've got the general idea. However voltage = oomph. Voltage is not a function of the atomizer but rather the battery. That's where the V in VV and VW come in. You can adjust it.
Now you know watts from light bulbs. More = hotter/brighter. And more $$$ (because more electricity is used). So for our purposes, with normal coils, watts = approximate heat.
The watts are a function of the voltage and the ohms. In fact, brace yourself....Watts = Voltage squared divided by ohms.
So, it's BOTH things that matter.
For a VV/VW e-cig like yours, it's best to use middle of the road ohms. This gives you the most wiggle room on each side of the equation to adjust your battery. I'd also suggest that you stay away for dual coil anything to start out. Sorry to those above. But dual-coils just mess people up. Maybe get a bunch of stock coils or even a replaceable head tank where you don't have to wind your own coils to start.
You could also investigate a standard atomizer and dripping. Research it. I dripped for two years straight. Least juice waste, best flavor, inexpensive, but more work. An atomizer would last me a month or more.
As to saving $$$...check into the DIY e-juice section.
By doing DIY and using inexpensive coils you can get a good vape and save $$$$. Keep it simple to start. Good Luck!
