Hello,

I just ordered the eleaf istick 20W and I have some questions about tanks.

Currently, I am using a cheap ego pen-style ecig with a kangertech protank 3. I have read that there are better options for the eleaf istick, so I want to purchase a different tank. Eleaf has introduced the eleaf gs air tank to match with the eleaf istick. I have also been looking at the aspire nautilus mini.

1) Why is the nautilus mini so much more expensive than the eleaf gs air?

2) What ohm coil do I want to use with the ileaf 20w? The gs air tank comes with 1.5 ohm dual coil while the nautilus mini uses single coil bvc 1.8 ohm. Which is better for the istick?

3) What wattage and/or voltage would I use depending on the ohm of the coil? I have not used variable wattage/voltage so I do not know what to set it at to ensure longevity in the life of the coil and maximize performance?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly!

Nick

Hi Nick and welcome to ECF!

1 - Don't really know, but could be due to manufacturing costs, cost of development or just simply "what the market will bear"

2 - The lower the ohms, the faster the coil will heat up and the warmer the vapor will be. I haven't tried the eLeaf tank, but I've tried bot the dual coil heads and the single, verticle coil heads in my Nautilis Mini. Both are fine, but I have a slight preference for the single-coil verticle coil ones. to me, there's a slight improvement with the flavor when using those. YMMMV

3 - It's not just the ohms of the coil, it's also dependent on the juice. Each juice has a "sweet spot" so to speak, where the flavor is best at that power setting. To find that, start with a low power setting and take a few draws. then bump up the power a bit and draw again. Keep doing that until the flavor drops off, gets funky or you start to get a dry hit. then back off the power a notch. that's the sweet spot for that juice with that coil. I generally run my setup around 6-11 watts with 1.8 ohm coils depending on the juice.

Hope that helped and Happy Vaping!
