Hi!

I recently purchased a Vapor King from V4L after asking around here and reading some reviews. Prior to this I owned a kit from GreenSmoke that I used for a while until the battery broke. Since I have no experience with VK before this moment, I can’t tell if this is working correctly.

I use the VK by dragging into my mouth. The flavor is good and the TH is nice. The cartomizer is sufficiently filled as well. Problem is, while there is vapor when I puff it like a cigar, I don’t see any vapor when I inhale and exhale. With the GreenSmoke, there was always a plume of vapor coming out, and that matters a lot to me. However, I don’t have that same satisfaction with the VK or I am not using it correctly. Also, I cannot tell if I have screwed on the cartomizer tight enough? The holes on the side exist for a purpose? And the cutoff time for the battery is inconsistent. Please, any owners of the Vapor King please advise!

Thank you all very much….

The holes are where you get the air in for the draw. At the bottom of the carto you'll see a couple of cutouts, and on the edge of the battery, just below the screw threads, you'll see a couple of holes. If the carto cutouts line up with the holes in the battery it should draw fairly easily, with good hit.

Maybe you've tightened a bit too much, not getting cutouts lining up to holes (or at least close). Otherwise, any chance your battery is a bit low?

Try covering one of those holes up with your finger and see if the drag gets better. The newer V4L batteries have larger or more air holes then they use to. I have to plug one of the holes on the side to get the tight draw. If that helps, you may want to block one of the holes with some crazy glue gel or silicone. Some people break a piece of toothpick off in one of the holes. i would not cover more then one hole. If you cover too many holes you will get no air flow and no drag.

are you using the newer batteries? What type of cartomizers did you buy? Premiums, WOW, or the old regular ones. A lot of the time lack of vapor production is due to using new batteries with old cartomizers.

The premiums & wows have substantial amount of more vapor. Also, some cartos produce more than others.

It takes awhile to get used to the different drag with ecigs, you'll get it in due time. :)

Try taking long, slow drags, not directly into the lungs, but let it hit your throat and than exhale.
Hope this helps

I use VaporKing pretty exclusively, and I just bought four new batteries, including two new Shorties which I am using right now. The vapor is important to me also, and I can assure you that with every VK battery and cartomizers I have used, there is a ton of vapor. The best thing to do is to send a message to Vapor4Life and tell them the issues you are having. Sounds like something is wrong.

Kimmy, I do not know if these are newer batteries but I can tell you that I just ordered them 7/7/2010 and received them yesterday. Batteries are fully charged. The two cartomizers I've tried are both premium I believe, Cool - 18 and Parliament - 11. Those two flavors came complimentary.

I own a GreenSmoke set and I'm pretty used to the slow drag into the mouth. (Actually, that's how I smoke analogs too.) If I can't figure this out soon, I'll get in touch with V4L. Thank you all for your suggestions and help!

Hi WHoAmi,

I received my VK package today and I used Green Smoke prior to VK, so I know how you feel :)
I must say at first I expected more vapor after being used to Green Smoke, but after I recharged the batteries I am very happy with it now, especially with WOW cartos, amount of vapor is almost identical to GS.
I don't know which batteries you have, I've ordered both manual and automatic, and they both work just fine regarding amount of vapor, maybe there is slightly more with manual batteries.
The thing that bothers me more than vapor amount is strange cartos taste and smell (not burned smell).... I would like to hear from you since you were using GS too, is this taste different for you too?
I have weird taste in all cartos, especially in banana and chocolate flavor, so it seems that it is the taste of PG base, but I didn't feel it with GS, it taste like some kind of alcohol, and smell a bit "sharp" like that.
After inhaling it stays into my mouth, and I really can not get used to that taste.
At first I thought it could be the taste of PG, but I used e-cigs before and never had such experience.

LilMew, I think you're right. I tried a few other cartomizers and they actually produce a decent amount of vapor.

ProZac, the only other e-cig I have ever used is the GreenSmoke so that is my sole benchmark. That being said, after plugging in some other cartos I think the flavor tastes better than the GS and the vapor volume is getting close. I used to refill my GS cartos with some VG juice that produced a lot of vapor. THAT was fun. Unfortunately one of my batteries broke and the price to replace that is borderline fraud.

Both batteries I got are automatic. I'm pretty happy with the purchase, though I only wish I got in during the July 4th sale. Oh well....

Thanks everyone for their input.

Yeah I bought the cools and they produce next to no vapor. V4l gave me a few packs of other menthol flavors as replacements.

The wow and premium carts are very good though.

I too started on Green Smoke, quit the analogs by Green Smoke almost three months now. About a month ago I also went with the Vapor King from Vapor 4 Life. I got the new batteries, the XL 380mah kind.

I also noted the lack of vapor from Vapor King comapred to Green Smoke but I also noted it depends upon what flavor you get. Some flavors have very little and some have a lot on the Vapor King. After trying dozens of flavors and almost giving up finding one that I like I came across the coffee flavor, I just love it and produces a reasonable amount of vapor.

At the same time I discovered from this forum that Green Smoke uses the E9 aka V9 aka KR808D-2 (note the 2 since the Vapor King batteries are aka 808D-1 type batteries and no you can't use the mix the two different cartozimers). In either case the Green Smoke batteries (808D-2) you can find very cheap about $17.00 compared to Green Smoke's $50 at; LeCig Electronic Cigarette Store

I have ordered these batteries from lecig and I can tell you first hand they work very well with Green Smoke cartozimers.

So now I use both the Green Smoke and Vapor King. I know some people here hate the Green Smoke taste but I actually like the regular Tobacco flavor from Green Smoke (but not the tobacco M) and I love the Coffee flavor from Vapor for Life on the Vapor King.

BTW, Vapure, Red Dragon, Smoke 51 and others all use the same batteries as Green Smoke. The sister company (e-juice) of Vapure also sells the E9 batteries cheaply too;
e-Juice-USA.com

Hope that helps.

Bill
