OK, so, now that I know the Kanger coils may be legit, I have another issue.
I recently switched to VV, with a battery that reaches up to 6V. With my Aerotank Mini and 2-ohm coils, I can't really raise the volts even as high as 5 without burning the liquid. I don't see anything above 2-ohm coils from Kanger. How do people get mods that go up to 11V? Do I have to switch the brand of my clearomizer or something??
First off, I'm with Nat79... I think you're mistaking watts for volts. I could be wrong as well, but I too have never heard of an 11 volt device. Now 11 watts, that's easy to reach with any standard mod, which usually range from 3v-6v.. and up to 15watts.
I use the stock replacement coils from Kanger. I've got gigantic hands with matching sausage fingers, AND they shake uncontrollably due to my anti-psychotics that I have to take for some personal issues. So rebuilding these small coils for the Kangers or my Nautilus is unfortunately not an option for me.
However, I buy my Kanger coils from mvs (myvaporstore.com I believe)... I have an Aerotank myself, except it's the Mega. And MVS, I know for a fact, carries some kind of upgraded Kanger coils. Another ECF member, NathanielFT told me before buying the tank to make sure I didn't buy the older coils for it. So I sent him the link and he assured me they were the newer ones. Then once I had them in my actual cart, I believe they either had (new) or (v2) out beside them in the product description. But like I said, that didn't appear until looking at my cart during checkout. I bring this up because I don't get dry hits or burnt tastes at all with my Aerotank, and that's using a pure VG liquid in the tank as well.
As far as your settings on your vv mod go, several in this thread have already nailed it. I use the 2ohm coils from Kanger (a couple have registered at like 2.1ohm but that's expected).., anyway... with the 2ohm stock Kanger heads, I typically have my mod set to 4.0v... and no issues with burning.
(which is more than I can say about my Nautilus... I'm going to give it another chance with their new BVC coils they recently released, but unless those things are miracle workers, I'll be tossing my Nautilus in the "useless s**t" bin... lol)
