As you'll see, I don't know much about electronics. I'm thinking about getting a vv, actually saving up would be more truthful, and have a question. After reading the posts here and elsewhere, I'm confused about the voltages.

If the battery charges up to 4.2, how can it put out 6 volts? It's probably easily understandable to most people, but I don't understand. Thanks in advance.

To put it simple just like amplifying sound it amplifies voltage..the trade off is it uses up more battery amperage when you boost (amplify) volts.

Thanks. I was going to ask if it boosted it somehow, but didn't know if that made sense.

Yeah I believe it's called a boost voltage regulator, boost converter or other names and there is more than one way to do it. There are VV devices they vary the voltage by stepping it down like MadVapes VV Mod Box but that involves stacking batteries and dropping the voltage creating heat..it is probably a lot less efficient.

I think what it is doing is Trading Amps for Volts. Then it stores the Higher Voltage in a Capacitor so when the Button is pushed, the Higher Voltage is Drained from the Capacitor and not from the Lower Voltage Battery.
