My friend has been messing with the different pg/vg ratios looking for least amount of throat kick. Went through The Vapor Chef and did 30% PG and 70% VG (the hi-c flavor) and found it to be intense; even more than my 50:50. Looking for a good reccomendation on a citrusy (preferably orange) juice that won't be harsh while also tasting good.

Thanks! =)

Yes my friend has been smoking reds for over 10 years, i dont think lowering nic is an option lol. I am thinking maybe its the vape or I need a new company. Any suggestions? If its a vape it needs to be simple to use, no leakage and relativly reliable. Don't need anything too fancy- it just needs to get the job done! :) PS I am also curious myself

No suggestions really, throat hit is almost completely defined by nicotine content. Other than lowering your wattage(by turning down the voltage on your device if it's adjustable or using a higher ohm coil) or going to a 100% vg mix, there's not much you can do to lower throat hit. Even with those two things, you won't change it much. Nicotine is throat hit.

edited to add: As far as citrus juices go, I really enjoy the Solar Flare from Mt. Baker, and it's so reasonably priced that you won't feel too bad if you don't like it.

Flavor, vapor production, and allergies. VG tends to produce considerably more vapor, but mutes flavors and throat hit. It's also very thick, which makes it feed and wick more slowly, which can result in dry/burnt hits if you are hitting it fast on certain atomizers. PG on the other hand is very thin, feeds very well especially in tanks, and carries flavors better, but does not produce nearly as much vapor. Some people get throat or respiratory irritation with too much or any of one or the other as well.

I wasn't trying to bring you down or be negative, but people have been chasing 0mg throat hit solutions for YEARS and the best anybody has come up with is imitating something sort of similar to it. Unfortunately, that just happens to be equally true in the opposite direction.

Edit, to respond to your first question: Full 100% vg juices tend to taste sweeter, but have less flavor if that makes any sense. It has it's own natural sweetness, it just doesn't carry the flavors that are added to it as well as PG. They do produce really pretty big puffs of vapor though. They also can be very slow traveling down a wick, so you end up having to VAPE, wait... VAPE, wait...

Anybody who feels that nicotine level is the only major defining element in throat hit should try vaping pure VG and pure PG. There is a significant difference in throat hit between the two. As already stated nicotine level plays a big part in throat hit but the PG/VG ratio also plays a significant role in throat hit.

I've done both of those things and I'd still have to politely disagree with you.

I don't really like citrus type vapes, so I can't help you there.
But lots of people do, so I figure a bump might help.

What's the nic level? I was a 1+ pack a day smoker and vaping with 12mg was like chain smoking 4 or 5 analogs. I went down to 6mg and if I vape 15-20 hits, it's still very noticeable. I also went with a mostly VG mix as PG doesn't sit well with me.

Can't help with the flavors.

Adding a few drops of Koolada can help.
A cooling menthol effect w/o the menthol taste.

That is if you want more TH not less. :)

Nicotine is the biggest factor for the TH there's like others have said no way around that.
The topper plays big role aswell. I can't vape my 18mg in my dripper for example, way to rough. But they're fine in miniprotanks and clearos.

So what nicotine is your friend vaping? If its 24mg tell him/her to try 18mg, if it's 18mg tell him/her to try 12mg.
It's quite a diffrence from 18 -> 12 in regards of throat hit.

Also some juice brands can have a big impact on it aswell, some juicebrands got next to none TH while others have a great deal of TH.

As for pg/vg i wouldn't go lower than 50/50 blends in miniprotank / evods, they can't wick well enough if you go higher VG.
