Hi,

I checked out out the post on possible e-cig types for newbies and I have decided on the KR808.

The reason being that I need a low maintenance, compact piece. But I have a few questions...

Since I live in Malaysia, where can I buy the product as well as the refill and spares regularly? Would the KR808 be the most widely available here? How much would a starter set cost? How much should I expect to spend in a month?

The description says that the battery only lasts 2 hours before a recharge. Is that 2 hours per stick or 2 hours per pack? Or do I only get one stick in a pack?

I currently smoke a pack a day of menthol cigarettes. I need these cigarettes to have a pleasant smelling scent (possibly with menthol) as my job requires me not to smell like cigarette smoke.

I don't about what's available in Malaysia, but the 2 hours between recharges is for a single battery. Therefore, if you get the slim style battery make sure you have some backups.

As for the smell, the vapor leaves little to no odor at all. If it does, most people have told me they smell something sweet. Nothing bad and certainly not tobacco. I guess it all depends on what your vaping but the odor shouldn't linger around or get in your clothes, hair etc.

I have checked the eGo forum and read of a lot of leakage issues with the eGo-T model. My worry is that I will spend a lot of time trying to 'fix' issues that might crop up. What would be the best model that you guys recommend?

Also, what is the difference between a cartomizer and a clearomizer?

Sweeney Todd, I'd rather buy goods locally. Would the Smoktech 510 D.C (Dual Coils) Tank Cartomizer 1.5 oHm (easily available here) work as well?

I have decided on KGO. Is that a good model/brand guys?

I was just about to post that the KGO would be a better choice. Stick with cartomizers to start. They are a lot less hassle than tanks.

Clearomizers are essentially cartomizers that are clear and you can see how much juice is in them. Some have polyfill and some don't.

Here is a clearomizer....

I agree. Tanks can be frustrating at first. More fragile and prone to leaks etc. especially if you're carrying it around with you all the time. Nothing would be worse than having a full tank come apart in your pocket!

I like my KGO a lot. It works well for a long time and last me a full day before recharging. I would suggest the Boge cartomizers to go with it- try the 510 Low Resistance (LR) 2.0 ohm cartOs AND try the Standard Resistance 3 ohm cartOs. You might notice a flavor difference and is worth trying both. I recently got an 'eGo Vision' clearomizer like this and I like not having to 'top off' my cartos so often. I also have found that a little 510 extension like this is very nice to have on-hand. Cheers!

Kgo is one of the most popular PVs here. I'm a kr808 lover but this would have actually been the first time I tried to persuade a noob to bump right up to a kgo. This is only due to your inability to get refills quickly.

Get two kinds of cartos to go with that Kgo kit. Get one 5 pack in the 2.5ohm range and one in the 2.0ohm range. If you can, get some 1.7ohm as well. The higher the ohm, the better your flavor, the lower the ohm, the more vapor and throat hit you get but the higher heat kills off flavor a little.

Almost two months in and my friend Charlz is in the midst of a paradigm shift. 6 months from now Charlz will tell you kr808's are crib toys, and he'll be right.:)

That's not true at all. I love my kr8s. I just popped one fresh off the charger. But I know that I can get new ones in two days. I even have a brick and mortar shop right near my house if I don't mind paying 50% more. Every pv has a purpose in this life. Except the blus and those nonsense.
They are great little 3.7v batteries. Oh crap. Excuse me while I go recharge it.
