Yeah its def not necessary to dip it. Just wipe down the threading well and youll be good to go. Manual batteries are completely sealed and thats one of the big pluses for using a manual battery instead of an auto. Auto batteries are not sealed, and even the "sealed" auto batteries are not actually completely sealed, they just have the airholes off to the side. So why it is harder to kill a "sealed" auto battery compared to a regular auto battery, you can def still kill a sealed auto battery with a bad enough juice leak
