My names rich and I have been vaping for about two months. I am now on my second pv which is a magma. My first was a blu and was horrible. Three days ago my manual battery randomly started to blink so I assumed it was going dead. I put in on the charger.. then next morning I unplugged it and went to take a drag and it tasted horrible, barely any vapor and a really bad burnt taste.. I tried cleaning my carts, filler and atomizer and still the taste was there.. this lastedd for two days and it was so bad yesterday that I almost went to buy a pack of smokes(but I didn't). I assumed that maybe my atty was messed up so last nite I ordered two new ones, and an extra battery. When I woke up this morning I went to take a drag (dreading that burnt taste) and to my surprise it was gone.. it was hitting like it was brand new.
So my question is this: do manual batteries have an auto cleaning cycle?
I have read that some automatic batteries do but noone has specified if the manuals do or not.

Welcome fellow Magma owner. that horrible taste can't be the battery. If it was flashing, it was either dead, cut off from using more than 8 seconds, or shorted out with juice(yes the manual batteries can leak if you SEVERLY flood it). Most likely its just built up gunk in the atty. Search out HighPings cleaning method. I had the same issue, tried his method and all is perfect again.

Wow .. talk about a quick response.. lol.. thanks. I will definitely try the cleaning method. Also I wanted to ask because you also have a magma and there are no official cart caps yet( I use 901 caps now, work pretty well) I wanted to see if maybe you knew what is ok to use to clean the pcc. Before I got my caps my carts spilled all over the place.

Aah I gotcha... I sometimes drip but usually use carts because I'm always on the go .. I wonder if using rubbing alcohol would hurt it.[/QUOTE

I've used rubbing alcohol on 501 atties and have only lost 1 since I started around March 12. Lately I've been flushing them for a couple of minutes with hot tap water but I still flush with rubbing alcohol with an eye dropper pushed into the cartridge end. I can't say it's recommended but it has worked for me so far.

Others recommend high test vodka but I might decide to drink that instead. I already had the rubbing alcohol in the medicine cabinet and it's cheap. Doesn't really taste good either.

There is no automatic cleaning cycle on any pv that I know of , It was a joke someone started.
No it's not.

Pretty much ALL automatic batteries used to come with a cleaning cycle.
I have no idea if they still do because I wouldn't use an automatic even with a gun to my head.

And some manuals do, or so I've heard.

It is definitely not a joke.
But it does suck.

I think it is safe to add the magma to the list of manual batteries that has the cleaning cycle because i did alot of reading about the automatic cleaning cycle and what it before and after and the magma met all the symptoms... i wish i would have thought about the clean cycle last night before i ordered a new battery, and atomizer. hell whatever, you can never have too many spare parts.

Actually, you can have too many spare parts.

I stocked up on 30 510 atomizers way back in August of last year.
And I have only lost one so far.

I had read all these things about how they don't last, and all that.
But if you use the Highping dry burn cleaning method correctly, they may last forever.

I can tell you with 100% accuracy the Magma batteries do not have a "cleaning" cycle. Also, just a a basic every day or so maintenance on any battery, take a qtip that you wet with 91%+ rubbing alcohol and clean the atty threads and the battery threads. This removes and juice residue, finger oil, and varnish from the brass and allows it to have a solid electrical connection. I would also suggest joining up on Volcanos forum. There is a lot of good volcano specific info on there as well a "almost" live support as all the owners of the company are constantly on it as well as all of us loyal users.
