Questions about tanks

Hey all, thanks, in advance, for taking time to help me with my questions. Being new, I have plenty- if thats ok?
These questions are about tanks.
I have been back and forth about this tank and that tank. Do I start with a basic one? Do I go for the sky blue pink edition?
How many issues am I willing to live with starting out? why is everything a clone instead of authentic?
and yes- regular or subohm... These questions are based around the use with an iStick 50w.

That all said, I first want to tackle the looming cloud- If I purchase say... a subtank: will i HAVE to use only sub-ohm coils or can I use it with a 1 ohm or higher build in an RBA? I understand that the "stock" cartridges are 1.2 ohm, but I have a feeling I am going to like making coils and trying different set ups. I know, mindless for many- but I like to tinker.

I've looked at the styling for a number of tanks and even drippers. The latter of the two is kind of sacred to me and I want to earn that step in like 6 months to a year or so. Tanks are a bit of a mystery I want to figure out at this point. I'm not into the colorful ones like the Bellas- personally, i like black or polished finishes. The ones I tend to like or that people talk about- always end up being sold out and never restocked. These companies obviously haven't had an economics course. As for clones- I'm probably going to avoid them like the plague.

So far my "list" includes:
Kayfun -authentic anything- (which seems impossible)
Kanger Subtank
Ehpro Billow
eLeaf Lemo

Feel free to give suggestions- maybe you know a vendor or can point me in the direction of where to go from this point. Thanks again for taking time to help me figure this whole mess out.

The current authentic Kayfun is the k4. Finding it in stock may take some time. If you're looking for a previous version, get verified so you can buy in the classifieds.

I would imagine you can build the Subtank to any resistance you wish.

The Billow is dual coil, and perhaps not the best first RTA.

I love the Lemo :)

The Subtank RBA in nice because it is what you make it. I personally turned my dual .5 ohm coil in the RBA for my own 26 gauge twisted single .6 ohm coil.....be cause I could and I did. :D Nice thing about that is that it will fit your needs, not someone else. That is the only tank I have owned of the ones you mentioned.

Since no one straight out said it, you don't have to sub ohm with the sub tank, I have mine at 1.1 right now, 28 gauge kanthal, single coil and it's amazing. It's an easy first rebuildable. I have a SQuapeR thanks to a certain someone, an Aga-t5, and a SubTank, each of them different, but still similar to build on. Regardless of whether you get a super expensive RTA or just a cheap one, the experience will still be good :)

Also I love VaporDNA, I got my sub tank and my aga-t5 from them(very good shipping and customer service)

I'm rocking the Subtank mini with a re-built stock coilhead as I find the RBA section a little airflow restrictive I have a 28 gauge Nichrome parallel coil 4 wraps on the trusty little blue handled screwdriver @ 0.40 ohms it is fantastic. I personally think it has better flavor than the Atlantis but if you want another option look into the Joyetech Delta II RTAit is also a very good starting point for a re-buildable and also takes screw in coilhads that have one upped the Atlantis and subtank with a juice control on the coil housing it will also handle everything a 50watt I-stick has for power and more.
