Hello all,
Although I feel I am getting into this a little late with all the banning issues that are out there, I have decided to start vaping as an effort to move away from analogs. I have done my research (thanks in large part to this forum) and have decided on the V4L Vapor King as my first E-Cig. I do have a few questions before I order from some of you that are more experienced at this than I:

1. I plan on purchasing some blank cartos with my initial order and was wondering how many cartos a 30ml bottle of EL would fill? This info will hopefully keep my from having to constantly go online and purchase every few days.

2. What are you preferences as to an automatic or manual unit.

Any help is greatly appreciated. ....I can't wait to get started.....

Welcome to ECF and the vaping world...

1. Try not to think of it in terms of liquid per carto..
Instead try to think in terms of liquid per day.
You can probably plan on 2-3 ML per day.
So 30 ML will probably last 10 days to 2 weeks.
And you're best off overestimating your daily usage.
I like to keep at least 2 weeks worth on hand, due to shipping times and other factors that may increase the time required to get more juice.

2. I like manual.
Atomizers take a little time to heat up to the optimum temperature for vaporizing liquid.
With Auto batteries, you have to take a couple "primer" puffs to get to that temp.
Manual batteries, you just hold the button for a moment, then start inhaling.
Plus, Auto batteries are sensitive to wind/motion/noise.
They tend to discharge when you're not actually using them, and that is very annoying.

good luck, and enjoy the ride.

1) Cartos are refillable, so you should only need a few is that is the route you are planning to go. 2-3ml a day is about right. A BLANK premium cartomizers holds "about" 1ml of juice, so a cpl - around 3 a day of prefilled would be good.

2) I used to have automatic batteries, because they are more "cigarette like" NOW I would never own an automatic, they are finicky, and seem to go bad sooner, plus you can not control the amount of vapor as easily.

Buy manual batteries!
Automatic has too many probems!

Personally, I have not had any issues with my auto batteries, either in terms of going off by themselves or for other factors. I use a 510 so I cannot comment on the V4L models.

That said, I have yet to try a manual battery; I ordered one that I should receive today so I may find that I have a definite preferece soon. I know they seem to be the battery of choice for many here.

As with most other things vaping, there is a lot of variation due to personal preference with just about every aspect of this activity. My personal suggestion to the OP would be to try both batteries and see which you prefer.

Thank you so much for the help everyone. This can be a little overwhelming for someone new to it but I have been able to pick up answers to most of my questions with a little research on this forum. Unfortunately I work a midnight to 9 am shift and I find myself smoking more at those times. I am currently a pack-a-day smoker and am so ready to kick analogs.

fingers crossed

I like my automatic batteries, but I'm just a newbie.
If you're away from power during work, you might want an ultimate kit, one with the PCC -- it can recharge the KR808 batteries a handful of times before the PCC itself needs to be recharged.

For me, ex-PAD Marlboro red smoker, I started with 16 mg nic juice, quickly went to 24 -- more of a kick, closer to cigarettes.

The cartomizers can be refilled multiple times before you need to either clean them or toss them. I bought an initial 2 packs with the 30 ml bottle of 24 mg/ml nic juice.

If you're buying a full kit, you get to choose what strength/flavor of a 5-pack of prefilled ones you'll get, and V4L tosses in a couple of freebie sample cartos, some other flavor or strength (I really like their coconut, thought I wouldn't like anything except tobacco)

Man you're lucky. If I didn't have problems with them I'd use them all the time! I play bass and vape like crazy so it'd be nice to have a reliable one just to hang outta my mouth once in awhile! :)
