Hi All! I'm one of the lucky ones that quit analogs the moment my Blu cigs came in the mail. I've since moved on to an over priced White Cloud Kit (basically a $140 KR808), and a few extra KR808 batteries. I've spent a lot of money and am regretful that after 30 days only 1/2 of my stuff works!!! I'm at a point now where I either need to spend more money on extra backup batteries and cartomizers, or just move on. So, on to my Ego questions...

1)I notice Vapor Kings is selling the Ego kit with 2 batteries. Does it use both at once, or am I getting a spare?

2)How long do the 510 atomizers last. I see they cost $10 each and that scares me a little. I am a heavy vaporer!

3)How's the draw? I've complained in other posts that the KR cartomizers aren't consistent for me. Some times they are perfect, other times I have to suck really hard. Not to mention there is a lot of maintenence trying to keep good airflow. I'm looking for something consistent. I do refill my own cartos. Do I need the 510 blanks? How long do they last?

4)I think the black Ego looks pretty sharp. Has anyone been using it for a length of time? I'm wondering if it chips.

5)Does anybody have anything bad to say about the Ego? I seriously haven't been able to find any negative reviews!!!

Thanks!
I knew you could help!

One of those is a backup. You can use one while the other is charging, but they last so long that you can actually have two to switch back and forth on for differnt flavors or different atomizers.

My atomizers are going strong after two weeks. I found some for about $5 each and they seem to work fine. I think they were from valuevapor dot com

With direct dripping or using the carts, the draw is fine and huge amounts of vapor. My experience with cartomizers on the 510's is that the draw is still light but I have to suck way longer and harder to get decent vapor

The finish is almost like a rubbery feel to it. I have the titanium finish though so I can't speak to the black

I love my ego. There might be some mods that use a separate rechargeable battery that I still want to try, but the eGo is everything that I need, just maybe not everything I want. It does kind of get like a hobby where you want to keep trying the latest and greatest, but I think you'll love the eGo. I got mine from nhaler.com and their kit has a few extras that I found to be of value. It comes with a regular and a low resistance atty and a drip tip.

If I am not mistaken the KR808s have a draw adjustment. Look at the centre post if it has a slot, it has an adjustment.

Here is my answer(s) to your questions...

So, on to my Ego questions...

1)I notice Vapor Kings is selling the Ego kit with 2 batteries. Does it use both at once, or am I getting a spare?
One is a spare/backup
2)How long do the 510 atomizers last. I see they cost $10 each and that scares me a little. I am a heavy vaporer!
Atomizers vary in their lifespan. Some last me a week before vapor trails off, others for months
I chain vape a lot. A cart will last me an hour. Consider equivalent to 4-5 cigarettes. My cartomizers will last about 4 hours. most kits come with 5 carts, should be good to start with. As far as draw, I find the eGo with the cone to be pretty consistent as long as you avoid flooding the atomizer. Draw is slow and litlle harder then light...
4)I think the black Ego looks pretty sharp. Has anyone been using it for a length of time? I'm wondering if it chips.
I like mine, but extended use and people have had them peel or chip. They usually finish the job and turn it into a stainless mod :)
5)Does anybody have anything bad to say about the Ego? I seriously haven't been able to find any negative reviews!!!
The only thing I have bad to say about the eGo is proprietary batteries are expensive to replace. A mod that uses 16340 or the like are less expensive to replace the battery. But what is unique is that the eGo modulates the voltage down to 3.2V to give consistent vapor for a longer period of time. I use 510's on 3.7 & HV mods and find I really do like the 510 on the eGo, it is less harsh IMO then when on a true 3.7 or above. YMMV of course.
Thanks!

The kr808s do not have a draw adjustment on the cartomizers. If you turn the screw you can ruin a cartomizer.
I do love my Ego , that battery life is very long. 6 hours or more, depending on how much you vape.
The Ego is basically a 510 on steroids for battery life. I have the platinum one which is not ruberized surface and a pink one which is a ruberized surface. both work very well and mine have not chipped though I have dropped them a few times,
I got mine from Cignot.com. I have heard of them chipping but there are knock offs being sold so it may be from them,
The draw on it is consistant, I have no problem with that. I use 510 attomizers and 901 with an adaptor on it . The 510 for when I want a harder hit and the 901 when I am looking for more flavor,
You can use low resistance attomizers on it too if you want a really hard hit to simulate high voltage vaping that you would get from a mod.
Over all I would say the Ego is a good choice. The only thing up from there is a mod.

Honestly I like my eGo. The battery lasts a long time. I did nearly the same route as you I had the blu at first then got a 510 kit liked it and then just picked up the eGo battery, cone, and charger. The plus side I was able to keep the same attys when going from the standard 510 to the eGo. As far as the attys go I've yet to kill a single one and its almost a month and a half. I'm kind of cheating using cartomizers now but out of my original 10 cartos I've only killed 2 of them.
My suggestion is if you want an eGo go ahead and get one you won't be dissapointed in you purchase, and if you are worried about spending money on attys I would just get some blank 510 cartomizers they are cheap usually around $7 for 5 of them and get some good juice to fill them.

You should be able to "adapter" your 808 cartoz to a new ego, or purchase 510 cartoz. You can also just purchase one eGo batt and charger instead of the kit, if you just want to 'try it out'. Shop around for the best price on eGo kits, cignot, litecigusa, healthcabin, etc. Jolly is correct, atomiz are hit and miss, but prices vary from $5-10, with $10 being too high a price for me to pay.

We are all in the same boat. The initial cash drain can be quite alarming in the beginning but believe me, it all evens out in the end. Ahhh...regrets.

Me, I'm happy with eGo, no complaints.

As you now know, one of the batteries is a 'spare'.

For me, a heavy vaper, the batterys last about 6 hrs. (and after my week of use, they are starting to already wear out)

The finish on mine, after a week is stating to wear / peel off. No big deal, it still works.

The draw / vape with an LR atty or carto is still only second to my Silver Bullet. And that is very, very good!

I use my eGo for portability & stealth vaping and my SB for contemplation. ( or whenever I want my head to disappear :D)

I've had the Janty eGo since mid_Feb and still love it! I'm a heavy vapor (smoked 2-3pks a day), but it takes that in stride. I change out for a fresh battery once a day and keep on going... all while watching my co-worker change her 510 batteries 2 or 3 times just to get through work. I would definately suggest getting a kit with the fast USB charger though. 1.5 hrs compared to 4 hrs charging time says it all.

I've dropped my eGo many times mainly on concrete at work. The cone has a few small chips, but the battery itself looks fine. I have the black version and love it's classy look. It's definately not rubberized though.

I would suggest purchasing directly from Janty for the warranty alone. They were the designers of the product and claim to ensure quality control of their version. Also it seems that the majority of the problems I've heard with the eGo/Tornado/Riva have been with the clone/off-brand versions. For the number of users that seem to be out there though, they are all pretty reliable.
