Hi, everyone

Im in a country that prohibits ecigarettes, unfortunately. So Id have to buy it from the US.

I have a few questions:

1) The problem is, I can only find fluid and cartridges here in our country in the "black market" (ebay, etc).

So Im wondering, considering I smoke 1 pack of normal cigarettes per day, what would I need to buy in order to be able to use my cigarette for a long time?

From what I read, 1 cartridge is roughly equivalent to 1 pack of cigarretes. So Id need 100 cartridges and thats approx. 1000 US dollars.

2) I could also use dripping method and buy how much fluid to last a long time? Some producers told me it ruins the battery, is it true?

3) Whats your opinion that ecigarettes dont cause any harm, as the substances it has are harmless, nicotine is addictive but also not something that causes cancer, etc.

4) I was thinking of getting the blu cigar, is it a good option?

Thank you.

I started with a blu and was not able to quit analogs, but some people love them. You can reuse cartridges and/or cartomizers. The atomizer will eventually die in any ecigarette, and many users prefer cartomizers. Cartomizers are refillable until the coils in them die. Their life span varies by user, model, etc. I know I still had some detox to do after quitting analogs...I was getting all the nicotine and then some, but smokers are also addicted to all of the other nasty, unhealthy chemicals in analog cigarettes. Those chemicals are not in electronic cigs. My biggest recommendation is don't buy a ton of anything. Try things out, and see what you like. Good luck!

You mean like the tar/withdrawal-hack or are there other "adjustments" when it comes to getting off analogs...?

Also, would that mean it's better to make the transition a "smoother" one by alternating digital/analog until digital is all you inhale?

There was a stufy or a medical opinion recently and somewhere (yeah real specific) that recommended not going cold turkey - I'll find the link - and i have known some smokers who did quit abruptly and got real sick, but they were life-long 60-year smokers, older and frailer than the usual convert...

:D

Prefilled cartridges are definitely not the way to go if you want to save money. 1 cartridge does not equal a pack of cigarettes, more like 2 cig's in my experience. Dripping is more cost effective since you don't have to buy cartridges. An average vaper goes through about 2 to 3 ml/day. I use 24mg juice and a 30 ml bottle lasts me between 10 and 15 days. I buy about 200 to 300 ml at a time and it lasts for months.

There aren't a lot of scientific studies on vaping yet, but those that are out generally say that vaping is much less harmful than smoking. One even says it's very low risk.

As to what equipment to buy, read a bunch of threads here on ECF and you'll get a lot of information. Do some research and you can narrow down what you think will work for you. Personally I'd stay away from Blu though, but that's just my opinion.

3) Whats your opinion that ecigarettes dont cause any harm, as the substances it has are harmless, nicotine is addictive but also not something that causes cancer, etc.

Look at the difference on paper, cigarettes contain over 4000 chemicals of which almost 100 are carcinogens. E-cigs contain 4 or less chemicals of which all are classified as safe except nicotine which is NOT a carcinogen. People have you believe that nicotine is highly addictive. In my opionion it's no worse than caffine which has very similar effects on the body. What tobacco companies do is add chemicals to change the way nicotine is delivered and greatly enhance the addictive nature of smoking. They've done a spectacular job of that.

When I look back at my heavy smoking for 30 some years, it amazes me at how addicted I was. If it was only the nicotine, then why did I still go through withdrawls for the first couple of weeks of vaping. Why does NRT have such a low success rate. It's because there's stuff in cigs a lot more addictive than nicotine.

Thanks everyone for replies. Ola, amigo brasileiro! :) Obrigado.

Yes, in Brazil its ilegal as in many countries :(

Info: Electronic cigarette - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some interesting info here also: Are Blu Cigs HEALTHY? - Yahoo! Answers

Cskent, thanks for sharing that, if I consider 1 pack a day and that 1 cartridge has 20 cigarettes, and since they are ilegal here, Id have to bring like US$ 1000 of cartridges to last me a long time. :) So I will follow your advice, get an ecigarette that support liquid. Blucig doesn't, they say it damages the battery.

So I guess I can buy liquid and it can last me months as you say. Maybe the Ego t seems nice... Or buy in Brazil, I see some forum about it here E-cig.ForumBrasil, just not sure about trusting sellers considering its ilegal here or if I import (it seems many times they are confiscated if you import from abroad...).

Thank you.

I see so many recommendations in the forum, is there a place where its sorted by ranking or something? Or could you possibly recommend 3 top options?

Thanks again.
