Questions: metal, full mechanical e-pipe

I've been wanting to make my own mechanical for some time, however I recently stumbled across the not-entirely mechanical Smoktech e-pipe, and was inspired. I think I understand how making a mech mod works, with the body completing the circuit when a mech switch contacts the negative end of the battery. What I dislike about the Smoktech is that the atomizer battery connection is wired.

I plan on using copper tubing for the bowl part of the pipe, with the battery positive end down, but with the atomizer connector at a right angle from the battery's position. What would be the best way to make the connection? Should I simply use a longer pin and have the button top on the battery contacting it directly, on the side of the pin?

The metal body will give you a built in ground, so the only wires you'll need are from the pos on the batt to the switch and from the switch to the atty
And that is exactly what he doesn't want!
I would think of using maybe a 1/8 brass rod bent at a 90 degree angle or even a small segment of 1/2 dia brass rod about 1/4 to 1/2 long for positive battery plate.
Then tap in the side (round) so your your 1/8 rod can thread in (this makes a 90 degree turn)
I would remove the center pin in my 510 and insulator.
Find a nylon, plastic, or rubber to replace the insulator in the 510 it doesn't have to be fancy and slide over the little groove.
I chuck some small nylon in my lathe (u can use a drill to) and turn it to the right size to fit in the bottom of the 510 and .... right up to the little lip the silicon gourmet hooks over then drill the CENTER out to 1/8
*ps if you use a drill drill the 1/8 hole first and dont hold the plastic tight so it kind of threads the drill bit in tight then shape the outside once it is shaped then grab the plastic tight and the center hole will finish its drilling you know when a bit snags and beats your hands do death thats what we want to use to our benefit presto! everything is centered. you may want to fill the section from the 510 to "pipe bowl" stem area with epoxy to hold 1/8 rod and battery plate in place. Good luck there are a thousand ways to to do it. PLAy with it pick one next build you will tweak it.
