I would like to carve a pipe and build a mechanical mod out of it. I can handle carving the pipe, but I am not really sure where to start with actually making it into a mod. It seems like it would be pretty straight forward to do. Although I haven't a clue where to get parts for it, or even what parts I would need to do that.

It is my understanding that I would pretty much just need a switch for the battery and a 510 threaded connector on the other end. As well as potentially a 10 amp fuse. If I am wrong please correct me, because I am new to this. I have what I believe is a fair amount of knowledge about battery safety and electricity, but I really want to be sure of what I'm doing.

Does anyone have an idea of where to start on a project like this?

Edit: I think I've got an idea now. I plan on making a wooden box first. Then I'll do the pipe. I'm gonna use copper spring on the negative end of the battery, and a copper contact on the positive side of the battery. With the spring and contact wired to the 510 connector, using a switch on the positive side to interrupt the flow. Does this sound like it'll work? I'll make a wiring diagram when I've got time to.
