I'm not a fiddler, I like the "fill it and go" ease of the clearos, and I like bottom coils. I can put the T3's and evods on the Provari, but it's not as aesthetically pleasing. (Yeah, I like the pretty - it's important to me.)

Did you wash the protank? Mine smelled like gasoline when it came out of the box so if you didn't wash it well it's no surprise that it tastes weird! I would empty the juice into something and wash it well! Mine does not taste funny!

Don't worry too much about fussing with carto tanks! I got a few from IBTanked and use those on my Provari with carto's. It's really not hard at all to fill it- no more so than the Protank IMO.

Hey- I'll be in San Antonio next week on a business trip!

Yeah, I washed it well - soaked it, actually, in water with a bit of vinegar. The juice tastes fine, and it's not a chemical taste. I'm just weird about the taste of any metal in my mouth. As I said, it's not awful, and otherwise I love the tank. Just a minor quibble that a different tip would make it perfect, and I can't do it.

I got one on the way Tatroe Tank 3.2ML Smooth, Pbusardo has a short review of it.
Crap didn't notice it was out of stock, they do seem to come back in stock pretty quick.
I love the protank, but don't like the slight old penny taste I get from the tip

Thanks! That's a pretty tank. I wish I could see the juice in it though, but it's still an option.

Marti - I use carto tanks on my ProV's and another carto tank which is a Prive Clone. Like you in the beginning I didn't want to go back to "cartos" but have found them to be most reliable and not fiddly at all!

Baditude has a wonderful blog written about tanks, after reading I decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3710-5-cartomizer-tank-setup.html

But my main tanks are IBTanks. This first picture shows the two ProV's with IBtanks - 19mm XL.

The next shows the SS Zmax with the 19mm IBtank, the White ProV with the Prive Clone Tank, and the Bronze ProV with a 22mm IBTank and the ProRing.

I love them and hardly ever use anything else on my ProVari's...

Mines sitting in the local sort facility, expected date of delivery 3 June 2013, It will come down to who has the most out of shape mail man.....
There is a cross section of people who's body chemistry is such that their saliva will react with metal and cause it to break down. I cant do chrome or anything with copper in it as well as nickel. Alloys with low levels of nickel like SS are usually fine. I had to have 2 fillings and a crown removed because they started to break down and I would taste metal all day long.

I do have a nickel allergy, pretty badly. I have to sew a piece of fabric over the inside of some jeans buttons or tuck the shirt or something, because I'll get a horrible rash if it's against my skin all day. I have to buy expensive earrings, too - my earlobes will swell and BLEED if I don't, even with some supposedly "sensitive ear" ones. I have an autoimmune disease, so my immune system and antibody titers are all wacked anyway. My body just decides that random stuff (including my own joints) is ENEMY, ATTACK!!!!

My wife carries a few of these in her purse for me Light My Fire - Spork Titanium, most silverware in resturants is pretty cheap stuff, lots of nickel, the metal taste I get from a fork makes the food almost inedible. I uselly keep one in the glove box too just in case. I get some strange looks but it is what it is.

A possible solution may be to "paint" the tip with clear nail polish, or the color of your choice...
That would minimize metal to lip contact and possibly salvage a great vape device!
Let us know if you try it...

I love the protank for its pyrex but agree with not liking the taste of some drip tips that are fixed, although I like the protank better than the plastic of the T3. I just got excited about the T4 because I can change the tips. Here is the link to the five pack from fasttech
$14.11 T4 Electronic Cigarettes Round Mouth Atomizer (5-Pack / 2.4mL) 5-pack - black + yellow + purple + blue + translucent at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping. I don't have a provari so I don't know how it will look on it but maybe you will have a better idea about that. Here is the link to the single T4 in blue, they have five colors I think. $3.25 T4 Electronic Cigarettes Round Mouth Atomizer (2.4mL) - blue / 2.8

LOL we actually are twins, me too. I sew fabric over my buttons or use a band aid on the jeans in a pinch. I just discovered niobium, what an amazing metal for those of us with extreme allergies. It is amazing stuff for jewelry. I didn't believe it, but when I tried it I am a huge fan now. Sorry off topic, but thought I'd share.

i saw on a youtube video that there is a replacement tank that screws into the protank base. it uses a replaceable drip tip so you can still have the protank performance and a plastic drip tip.

And you didn't post the link or embed the video :(

Hey Kanger, listen to ECF and make a Protank that accepts driptips!!!!!!!!

Whew, think they will listen?

;)

It'll get better, I promise.

Best advice I can give you, soak the pro tank in white vinegar for a few minutes, then clean it thoroughly with hot water. THEN, dry it, and let it sit OVERNIGHT.

I almost completely gave up on the pro tank because of the metallic taste. It was DRIVING ME NUTS. Someone gave me this advice, and I was skeptical, but I figured I'd try it before I put the pro tank away for a good while.

Well, it WORKS. good luck. Send me a message letting me know how it went.
