Quick Coil Question

Just for future reference. If you need to measure the thickness and don't have calipers. You could do the ghetto trick and take a piece of string or even kanthal, wrap it around whatever your measuring, mark it where the ends meet and then place on a ruler (assuming you have a ruler that measures mm's.) If you don't have a ruler, I'm sure you can pick one up for cheap at a store. I've had to do this before, although it's not ideal, it works.

And if you don't know how to read the measurements on a ruler, Google does.

Yup, but that'll give you the circumference... which is usually not what coil wrapping calculators and people use to discuss their coils... you wanna know the diameter, so don't forget to divide that circumference by pie (3.14), to get the diameter... ;)

Yup!, totally forgot that last part. Like I said, it's not ideal to measure that way but it works.
