Man, those people at Liberty Flights have made a fan for life! Got my soft top boge's today....so much better than the XL ones in terms of simplicity of filling, though I did finally figure out how to fill those after watching a few youtube videos. Haven't actually tried it yet, though.

Question...all you Boge Soft top 510 carto users....I just filled my first one and am using it. I actually used a syringe to fill it, just so i could easily drip liquid down sides and stay away from middle hole. I saw on a video that they should hold up to a ml when empty...i didn't put quite that much in. I've got a lot of gurgling and crackling happening, though. Does that mean i overfilled it? And is there a solution? Thanks so much for all of your help! I just referred a few analog smoking friends here, to the eGo and to the Boge cartos..hopefully they can quit with em, too. If so, you guys and your great suggestions will have just helped me help two 30+ year smokers get off the cigs!

I've often wondered this myself. I have a few cartos that just seem to gurgle. I've tried blowing through the battery end to clear it, but it doesn't seem to help them. The popping also happens with some more than others, but most of mine do to some extent.

I'm no expert, and have only used maybe a dozen cartos, so hopefully an expert can pop in to help you out. I'm glad to see you got something a little less frustrating though.

Usually if you've overfilled a carto, juice will drip out of the connector end, the draw will be hard and you'll get little to no vapor. A little crackling and popping is normal. That just means that the coil inside is heating up. It might take a couple of puffs to get it started, but the draw should still be easy.

rofl..I might have understated the crackling gurgling happening. Was like rice crispy action happening for hours! lol Musta gotten a weird one. I ended up enduring the gurgling for a while, then filled large soft end of carto 'condom' about 1/4 way with juice and slowly pushed carto into it. Seems to have all but stopped the gurgling, so perhaps the problem was that I didn't fill it enough or evenly or something since i originally dripped liquid into that carto to fill it. Either way, problem solved!

Now here's a question...assuming i keep one carto for each flavor...how many times would you suggest filling these before i attempt to clean them out? Or do you not clean yours after x number of fillings and just go onto next one? Thanks!

I fill them about 20 times or so and then discard them. Tried cleaning them, and it doesn't work very well, unless you clean them only to quickly flush out old juice using a children's medicine syringe, so you can flush air through it to remove as much water as possible (after you flush out the old juice), and then let the filler inside dry completely for a few days. Soaking them in water or boiling water degrades the future performance. Tried it a few times, and quit doing that. Also, boiling water will shrink the filler.

If you have gurgling, it means there's too much liquid in the filler, preventing a good air flow, so blow through the mouth end to remove the excess juice. Crackling is good and normal. Hissing and sizzling is annoying and not normal. I had that problem with a recent batch of Boge 510 cartos, so I switched to KR808D-1 premium cartos to eliminate that problem, and because the KR8s have better flavor.

You can easily just drip into the filler without using a syringe by holding the carto at a 45-degree angle. It's much quicker that way. When refilling, I drip about 8 drops, wait a couple of seconds, and then drip about 7 to 8 more drops. When filling new cartos, I drip about 10 drops, wait a second, drip 10 more drops, wait a second, and then drip about 5 to 8 more drops.

OOh...specific number of drops instructions is VERY useful, thanks so much! And thanks for directions on flushing, as well, guys! I actually have some of those kids oral syringes laying around (for crafts...those things are handy!), so that'll work great! I had NO idea i could use them as many as 20x...thats terrific news. I have no interest in getting into complicated cleaning methods, so the 20x then flush or chuck is perfect for me.

depending on the type of liquid your using the time it will take for the filler to absorb the liquid can vary WILDLY
the number of drop it can hold also depends, though to a lesser extent, on the viscosity of the juice (as it effects drop size)
I find with the really thick juices its often faster to just use a syringe on boge carts anyway as you can drop 5 drops of vaperite juice on one and wait over a minute before they absorb down and make room for 5 more drops, of course for refilling and keeping it wet ...make sure you keep it wet... dropping down he sides is perfectly fine.
