So I received an istick as an early christmas gift but I'm finding it too powerful and it pretty much burns everything it touches. And I've had the eleaf voltages and everything explained to me now, which to my understanding is add 1 volt to whatever the screen is saying it's at. So my question is, does the MVP 2.0 behave the same way? Is it over powered or when I set it to 3.7V will it actually deliver that? I'm not interested in super high wattage or voltage honestly or having to add a 1 to whatever. I don't want to set it to 3.7V and forget that 3.7 really equals 4.7 then inhale industrial waste tasting vapor.

Thanks everyone.

Unlike the iStick, which uses Vavg regulation, the MVP uses Vrms regulation, so the number you see on the screen is an accurate reading of the power it is delivering. If you set the MVP to 3.7V, you will get 3.7V. :)

You may want to take a look at the MVP 20W that will be hitting the shelves any day now. It's essentially an MVP 2.0, but it has a spring loaded 510 connector and , more importantly, a vastly improved chip that regulates the power even better than the 2.0. Innokin claims that it has a +/- error of less than 1%, which increases battery life and reliability.

Yep your MVP 2 should function perfect compared to the iStick's wonky power output. I've found I can only use BVC coils on my iStick, which is fine, but I'd hoped it would be a more versatile device. My MVP is getting way more use nowadays, but I still like the little iStick quite a bit.

I think it's unfortunate that people are always recommending the iStick "first" for new vapers lately. Not everyone starts with a Nautilus, and they end up getting hosed by the iStick burning all of the other stock coils.

Yes, the MVP will perform better with your protank 2's, given that you are using both devices properly and have a good atty head. The iStick is /wrong/ and that is why you are having a problem with it. 6w is not 6w, it is much higher on that device. The MVP2 is far more accurate, and if it is set to 6w, you will get something close to 6w.

I'm using my Mini PT2 right now at ~ 7 watts on my MVP. Perfect. If I put it on my iStick and set it to 7w, it would burn up.

The display is very far off at lower settings on the iStick. If it is reporting 4 watts, you are probably getting closer to 8 or 9, depending on the resistance of your coil.

Will the MVP's minimum of 6W perform okay with protank 2's? On the istick I notice burning taste around 4-6W. And I'm not sure how off the display is lol

The iStick runs about a full volt higher in lower settings--it becomes a bit more accurate once it reaches 5 volts--watch Phil Busardo's video if you want to understand exactly what the iStick's output is.

I never run it in the wattage mode--only in volts (and I add 1 volt to whatever is on the screen).

I have an MVP 2 and when I want less than 6 watts, I switch to the lowest voltage setting (3.3v). Never had a problem with any of my single-coil clearos tasting burnt, and I'm a low-wattage person. Dual coils require more power, which why they do so well on the iStick.

It should work well. If you need to go lower than 6W on the MVP, just switch over to voltage. That should allow you to get just under 4W if needed, depending on the resistance of your topper.

My local B&M made my day today. The owner said under normal circumstances they don't do exchanges on opened products. But he would make an exception for me because I've been such a loyal customer. So I got my MVP2 and I LOVE it.

Oh and I won a Cool Fire 1 in a raffle they held there. So that's pretty sweet too.

Congratulations, Maiar. :toast:

Err...Let me rephrase.

The iStick does what it does, not matter what you tell it to do;

the MVP does what you tell it to do. :D
That's what I meant but autocorrect on my iPad didn't agree lol,
But yeah what he said, the stick does what it wants, the mvp does what you tell it

Gratz on getting your MVP! My iStick has fallen to the back of my rotation in favor of my MVP most of the time since I got it. Reliable. Dependable. Other words car dealers use to sell stuff.

Also, the Cool Fire 1 seems pretty cool. Weird conceptually and a little on the elderly side, but 8.5 watts should be fine for a lot of stuff.
