I just rebuilt my phoenix and noticed that the plastic that wraps around the posts are melted and warped. I guess my last coil was too close to the posts. I just made a new coil and I made sure it wasn't close enough to melt the plastic worse. Is this anything I should be concerned about?

The A-7 looks nice. Have you tried it vs the phoenix? Big difference?
I have both, the main difference other than quality is the A-7 get the air through the center of the 510 connection and even though they are the same size the A-7 is much easier to rebuild. The a-7 is all stainless also. I like them both as they are real performers on the cheap.

Thanks for the insight boss. I really want a penelope but I think the A7 is mode budget friendly atm heh.

So anyone have an answer for my melted plastic?

The real phoenix which doesnt have the tapered top piece but is flat at top has no plastic but expect to psy a little more

Mine is flat, got it from Vapor..... which is supposed to be the real one I thought.

It's the plastic that is around the screw posts on the bottom.

Mine are white also. 'cept my screw holes are turned in an opposite direction making a center coil very difficult.

What a clean photo!

I just wrap them round the screw themselves heh, haven't tried a center coil.

Yeah the pic is from the Vapor..... site heh.

You could forgo the wire holes, and instead just put the wire directly under the screw head and screw it down that way, that is - if they fully screw down into the posts.

Yeah, the little buggers are not quite able to be flush enough on the top of the posts. Good thought nevertheless :)

One of my screws doesn't go all the way down but I still wrap one of the wires around it. It works which is all that matters.
