Ok since I have never seen this discussed anywhere it could very easily be a dumb question but...
How do you know the mah of a vape pen battery is what it says it is?
Is it possible that the battery that is sealed in the tube/wrap isn't the 1100 mah you purchased but instead is a lower mah disguised, or being passed off as, a longer lasting one? Other than buying from a trusted source, who could also have been ripped off alittle & may not realize, how do you know? Has it happened or is it not possible?
Thanks

If we are talking Ego class they have gone through many renovations, but say 3 years ago, the smallest was about 300 to 350mah, the next step up was a 650mah, then a 900mah that later became the 1000 and 1100mah class. Vision (Spinner) and Smoktech (Winder) stepped in on the twist style market and started clocking in minimum about 1100 to 1500mah, and Latest ones I've seen are by Aspire and eleaf which are minimum clocking in around the 1700mah or higher, so these were gauged by size, longer or wider the higher Mah. Other mods like the Eleaf iSticks, Kanger, and several others with built in LiPo packs, just the weight alone you know there are pretty large battery packs in them. Now are all accurate to the Mah, no, not even 18650's are accurate to the Mah, there may be a 100 to 200 Mah +/- variance if not more, it is a median rating between identical batteries.

hth explain things a bit

Without taking them apart, you have to take their word for it.
Taking them apart is for when they're done and ready for the recycling bin.
Thats what I did with a few of them cuz I had the same question on my mind.
Same mAh rating, different weights ( as DIYer, I also have a small precision scale ).
Samme battery size, in some cases light weight aluminum tubes, in others chromed brass or even genuine steel. Some even had added a little extra dead weight inside the tube, probably to give it a heftier feel.
Batteries were all of the same size too. Best thing is to buy a single one first and see how it holds up in daily use.
If they don't measure up in performance, they might have scrimped on the battery itself or installed B-grade stuff.
With so many no-names around, it's hard to pin it on anyone.
But vendors who have their own logos on them usually make sure that they deliver what they're promise.

If not, they could end up one the nearest vapers forum's s...list

only way to find out for sure is to remove the battery and read the label on the battery, but unfortunately it also destroys the unit making it useless...

If they took the time to print a lie on the tube, they just as well might have taken the time to counterfeit the battery as well. It's done all the time.

Bottom line, we really don't know and the only way would be to test it under load with some good equipment or just vape it and see how long it last compared to others.

Hook it up to a hobby charger.

Put it through a few charge/discharge cycles.

Record the mah displayed on the screen for each charge and discharge.

Calculate a median value for the recordings.

This likely will take some creativity and knowledge. Though a fairly simple task, all things considered.

Thanks everyone for the answers... and hello
I have been lurking around this site for some time now and find it very helpful.

I guess I should have explained that it was the extreme light weight and kinda empty feeling that made me wonder. I have 2 and they both charge & work fine (don't get hot or anything) and I am not unhappy. In fact I would be thrilled if they were supposed to be 650mah lol.
I use a blow vapor digital display vv passthrough when I don't mind being tethered down to one place... and I have a twist vv 1600mah on its way, so as long as that one lasts as I feel it should then it won't matter at al.
Steamix it appears you had the same thoughts as me and you couldn't have answered my question better. I probably will take them apart when they are done just out of curiosity.
