Just figured this out the other day, I'll try to describe my reasoning and all that.

I realized after about a week or so, that my Evod was flooding, regardless of how much wicking material I put in. The hits were also very tight and my vapor production had gone way down. I experimented with everything, bigger coils and wicks, more top wicks, setting the wick higher or lower from the bottom of the slot, etc. Then I took a good, hard look at my atomizer head base (the bit that screws the battery, atomizer head and tank together. I held it up to a light and discovered the culprit: My three airholes were completely gunked over.

On my work days, my PV stays in a pocket for the better part of the day, and it's always in my hand when I'm at home. Obviously, the pocket contains lint and other bits that could work themselves into the air holes. Holding it constantly, they can get clogged by dead skin cells, natural oils that you excrete, etc.

I realized that the negative pressure from my inhale was actually turning my atomizer base into a vacuum chamber. The air holes didn't allow the pressure to equalize, thus causing gravity to draw the fluid in faster than it could be vaporized by the coil and moving air.

Took a pin, cleaned out the air holes, and it worked a treat. Now whenever I realize that I am getting a little gurgly or my vapor production has gone down, I clean the airholes and it's good as new.

Not saying it will cure all of your leaking issues, but it's a place to start, if the flooding only happens after a while.
