She changed your diapers; you keep changing her flavs!

Seriously, you're doing fine. Just don't 'push'! You're being a grand example and hopefully she'll get the 'message'.

Good luck to you and your Mom!

How do I explain to her to vape mouth to lung.

Read this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/337017-inhalation-technique-e-cigarette.html

The other way to explain it: "Vape it like a cigar." Sort of short, open mouth pulls into the mouth. Then inhale it into the lungs if you must. But since lung inhaling sends most new vapers into massive coughing fits keep in mind that lung inhaling isn't necessary either. You get the majority of your nic absorption from the linings in the oral cavity.

If she seems to be missing out on the lung inhaling exhaling out the nose helps make the experience feel more like a cigarette.

I tried for the first 6 months to get my SO to really give vaping a shot. He claims to want to quit, but eventually he just quit taking the bait. There was even a 24 hour period where he ran out of smokes and tried to vape and hated every minute of it. Went out and got some cigs the first chance he got.

I've been vaping almost a year and a half now, and he is no closer to quitting OR vaping than he was when I started vaping. I started out of curiosity, and when it worked to keep me from smoking I got more interested in making the switch for good.

Something inside has to tell you it's time, whether you consciously realize it or not. He's not there and may never get there, and that's OK. Your mom may be the same way. Yeah, it sucks, but that's just the reality of it sometimes.

My son helped me stop smoking. My wonderful son did that for me.

It took me awhile for me to stop smoking. He bought me an ego for mothers day last year. I gave him the money to get me two more ego set ups thinking more is better. I can never just have one of anything. It took me from mothers day until July 27th to finally stop smoking after 30 years of stinkys. One Saturday afternoon (July 27th 2013) I lit a cig and it was so awful after one draw it put it in the ashtray. It was the last time I smoked a cigarette. I still have the last carton I bought. I still have the last pack I smoked.

He makes great flavors still for me to try now. I was his test subject when he started making flavors. He recently made me a 30ML bottle of cinnamon just for old time sake.

He would gently ask me to vape and not smoke. The funny things he would do. He would jokingly hide an ashtray on me but he would put it back if I raised a fuss. He would take a cigarette out of my hand and put it out in the ashtray. He never pushed me hard though. When I finally stopped smoking he told me he was proud of me. He saved my life. If it wasn't for my son I would still be smoking!

Thanks to my son I live in a home where no one smokes! I am very happy about that! He has helped almost everyone in my family stopped smoking now! I never thought I would quit and now it has almost been a year since I smoked. It is so hard to believe.

Keep up the good work OP! It does take time for some people. If it works and she quits it is worth all of the hassle.:vapor:

You're going to think I'm nuts but... I keep my son, nephew, and their SO's off cigs by buying all their juice. 3-5 new flavors for everyone every week. I'm getting my brother there but he's a tougher nut to crack.

Every weekend I hit Killers .99 sale and buy enough juice for everyone in every flavor that's on sale. Except menthol and ice flavors, no one in the family seems to like any of those. At .99 for 15ml it's not going to break me plus it's encouraged them to go to B&M's to try new stuff, order from Killer themselves and try other online venders. They get 3-5 new flavors every week and they are getting quite a collection.

Maybe if you start bringing her a new flavor every week, not just to try but "Here Mom I got a buy one get one free" or something she'll eventually notice she has 20 bottles of juice sitting there going to waste.

Also have you considered the throat hit and nicotine content for her? We had to up PG and nic for my son for him to be able to quit cigs. Maybe she keeps going back to cigs because, lets face it, at 2.50 a pack she's smoking some rough cigs. She may not be getting enough nicotine fix from what she has either... consider how much she smokes and what brand, and how hard she puffs on it. She may just need an adjustment to the juice you're letting her try.

Yea thanks guys! Figured that would be the response. Worth a shot to see if there was something else out there to help her change her mind. But time will tell. And ill just keep letting her test the flavors.
VAPE ON!!

The harder you push, the harder they tend to push BACK.
My brother and sister-in-law are prime examples. They know how successful I have been with the vapor, yet, they don't seem to get it yet. It is extremely frustrating and disappointing when you care, but I have learned not to push.

PS....Many congrats on quitting!

I'm in the same boat as you.
I think she needs to realise that she WANTS to quit. Without that will it's not gonna happen.
And needs to take abit time to learn the device, she thinks putting in a coil is high tech stuff. Yet she knows alot about computers etc.
I think she's just afraid that is looks diffrent and it's a new "habbit" to learn, after all these years.

But let's hope both our moms will switch eventually! :)

Keep on with having her try flavors, and be sure that you do them in different categories -- she may be looking for the one she really likes. And she may need higher nicotine. I had to go to 26mg to finally quit completely.

I'm a 63 year old grandma who did finally make it after over 40 years of heavy smoking.:vapor:
