With the new year I imagine many people are looking for alternatives to smoking. Personally, I would not put pressure on myself to quit by immediately quitting cigarettes. I get the impression that I am not alone in finding myself preferring vapor over smoke, and naturally desire an e-cig because it is cleaner and not stinky ...and it tastes really good. Finding a flavor you like makes leaving analog cigarettes a natural choice over a short amount of time, at least for me.

I am happy that people want to quit. But don't put pressure on yourself, and don't feel bad if you fall back on a regular cigarette while finding flavors and e-cig setups you like. In no time you will start wanting the e-cig, and not the stinky things.

I am still smoking, but less and less. I have two cartons sitting on the counter that I should have opened a week ago. I just don't feel like it. I am at the point where I simply need to stock up on juice and flavors. In other words, I am smoking to supplement vaping at this point and it is unsatisfying. I guess I'll be selling my unopened cartons of cigarettes because I have an order coming in which should do me for a good while. I never intended to quit, I started vaping because I was driving the wife's car, and well...the rest is history.

Good luck to those that want to quit!

I agree with you. Looking at vaping as a substitute for cigarettes rather than an additional activity actually kept me obsessing over them... when, how many, etc. There is so much more to smoking than physical addiction especially when its been a 58-year habit. Once I decided to remove the deprivation factor and just allow choice to happen naturally, my mind was off them and I was on my way. For me, at this point, that means I still reach for a cigarette, no matter what my nic vape level, if I get upset and with certain activities. As long as I am free of all the poor health symptons I previously had I'm happy with the level I'm at.
