I've been vaping for a few months. I'm still smoking analogs...I was at about 5 a day and pretty proud of myself. Then I hit HIGH stress (my mom passed away unexpectantly last week). I'm back up to about 10 a day. I'll have to work back down. Don't beat yourself up over it.

I do believe that technical issues make you reach for an analog. I still haven't figured out how to get a CONSISTENT good vape. When I don't fell like putzing with it, I reach for an analog.

I think 5 a day is much better than 20 a day.....and that in itself is an acheivement.

So sorry for your loss, Lorraine.

The odd thing with me is that I didn't set out to quit smoking analogs...it just happened. I smoked for 41 years and was up to well over 2 packs a day8-o After over 3 months I'd never consider going back to smoking. As a matter of fact, after the 1st day I found that I really didn't like the smell of cigarette smoke at all.

Thanks for the post all. For some reason in the back of my head I thought I should not put this thread here because I was a supplier. But I am so mad I just cant magically transform into a e-smoker 100%. I have tried around 4 e cigs and 12 diffrent juices but I seem to not to comply to the average person.Maybe trying more e cigs would work I dont know just frustrated.......I think its more a mindset...... My Wife and Daughter come back from Peru in 10 days and am hoping If for example I try 10 analogs 1 day the next 9 analogs the next 8 until 0.
maybe I will be cured from analogs when they come back?

Do you have any idea why you still crave analogs? Are you having technical issues? Not enough vapor? throat hit? You say you've tried 4 different e-cigs and many juices....maybe if you post which came closest to working for you and why, someone could chime in and offer some input?

I cannot post on the e cigs as I am also a seller. There is just something that is missing and I cant pinpoint it.Its either a certain chemical that the analog cig companies added to a cig or its my deranged mind. Its like when I try any e cig- I have a great fixation but in a little while my thoughts think about a camel analog, grr....

Hate that it's not working for you, Rain, but, like a lot of others have mentioned, it's different for everyone. I read a post some time ago that it's harder to quit with the e-cig the 2nd time so if you've quit analogs with your PV, don't go back to analogs thinking it will be a piece of cake...that's actually what's kept me off of them (lol). In the past whenever I have found something that helped me quit it was always so easy to start smoking again because I was, like, "hell, I can just quit again". But going between smoking and not smoking wasn't all that fun either. I'm now a Happy Vaper. I had 4 analogs left when I received my e-cig in the mail and smoked 3 the first day and 1 at the very end of the second day - it tasted great but left a horrible taste in my mouth, one that I just couldn't get rid of and every time I think about smoking (mostly when I'm out drinking), I think of that awful taste and how wonderful my e-cig tastes. The farther removed I get, (I can't believe I'm even saying this because I really never in my life believed it would happen) the less I want an analog.

I believe it's due to the addition of harmine in cigarettes. IIRC, it's an additive that induces that 'dreamy' peaceful feeling when smoking. There was a discussion about it some time ago, but I can't find the link right off. A search of the forum might turn it up.

So you have a whole storefront selling something that doesn't work for you? Is this really a question of what you're doing wrong or the only seller in the thread telling how it works for others with a link to their store? If you're struggling I'm sorry, I just having trouble believing the sincerity in this thread..... What do you tell your customers???

don't know what level your at but some 36mg in the morning really did it for me.........don't know if you smoked a lot before but it seems people who smoked a lot did it for nicotine and switch over easier, several light smokers around here have more trouble switching and I think they were hooked on another facet of the analogs which is why this isn't as magical for them

I hear so many stories on when people get the first e - cig they just plain quit after 20-40 odd years of smoking.I have been smoking for 20 years since I was 15.My question is did everyone that quit just magically get the e cig and quit totally or did you try a cutting down method? Maybe Im a different breed but I still smoke some analogs while vaping and it really pisses me off but I feel something is missing.I am about to set a quit date to only vape just getting this off my chest :)

Dunno how many people started smoking a pack/day from the get go? I know I didn't, so I'm working my way down to zero. Right now, I'm at 5 days a pack, and it has been a little over a month since I started vaping. To me, that's pretty good progress, since I'm doing this to save money and improve my health and not competing with others to see who can quit the fastest.

There are certain times, like after working my ... off on something or after sex, I would smoke the analog because the e-cig isn't strong enough or satisfying enough. Those smoke breaks will be hard to overcome, but I'm not going to kill myself for having an analog here and there.

So don't 8-o if you don't win the fastest to quit smoking award! I wonder how many people went cold turkey will go back if e-cigs are banned?

Sorry I was trying to be a human being in this thread,Im not trying to sell anything I told everyone I have tried 4 different e cigs. This is why I was skeptical about posting here.If any customers ask Ill tell them straight up I smoke some analogs.Im not a liar.

that's why i'm trying to get off everything as my goal. I read of too many ppl that go back to analogs cause they're parts are dead and they're waiting for a shipment. Seems that's not really quitting at all, really. that's just substituting.

i sure as hell don't want to come this far and ever go back to analogs, e-cig or not. that would be totally insane to me.... I'm an adult and once i break the analog dependence, I can use self control to get me the rest of the way. HOPEFULLY!

I know what an addiction this is. It's pure hell to quit and I thank god for the PV approach to get over the hump. Nothing has ever worked for me like an e-cig.

I give a lot of credit to the long time smokers (40 yrs+) that have been able to quit. Talk about habit for most of our lives... damn hard to break. For myself, I would always think the damage has already been done, so why bother to torment myself by quitting?

The e-cig has made that possible. Where I go from here is up to me.

the 36 mg juice and tapering up/down nicotine levels throughout the day did it for me. That and a reliable PV.

one thing I've noticed is if I vape high nic juice, it sometimes made me want to have an analog even more. I cut back the mg and only do 36mg as needed like first thing in the morning. By slowly weaning the nic, rather than increasing it when I thought I couldn't give up analogs, was the breaking point for me. One day I didn't have an analog and didn't even realize it.

I was smoking 2.5 packs a day Bronco full flavored, basically I believe equivalent to camel filters as I felt the same on them. My wife was smoking ultra lights so I started with 18mg and she started with 10mg, I haven't had an analog in over a week ( one week after I got my ecig ) my wife wasn't doing as well, she started vaping my juice and hasn't had an analog in a couple of days... There doesn't seem to be an equivalent of what you smoked. She's been recently analog free from smoking 1 pack a day of ultra lights and I've been analog free for over a week vaping the same amount of nicotine from a 2 and a half a day habit.

that's amazing abudman. congrats to you and your wife! that's a major accomplishment. sounds like the 18mg gave her the satisfaction she needed. I started on 12mg and quickly went up to 36. When I got my 510 and was actually getting alot of vapor, the 36 was way to strong.

We smoked DIY home rolled for over 12 yrs and I have no idea how much nicotine was in them. Probably a lot. I transitioned down using a Tar Blocker filter long before I heard of e-cigs, so it was a slow process for me. The key for me was to keep looking forward no matter how long it took.

Thought I'd add my exp to this.. I just started with a m401 Monday.

I think a lot of what's been mentioned is true - so different for everyone and their habits, especially the mindset. I did go into this with the hope of quitting the analogs.

My previous habit was an average of 1.5 packs a day, for the the last 13 years or so. Brands have varied over the years, but camel crush was the most recent. Then something happened.. I started getting the 'firesafe' smokes here, didn't realize it at first but then I put it together.. the re-lighting, the harder pull / less hit, worse taste, and worst of all my throat was being coming more and more irritated now.

Based on what I've learned so far, with my whopping 3 days experience, this is what I believe helped me:
I quit smoking indoors long ago, but it's hot and miserable so puffing away indoors now is great.
Fruity Flavors - I thought I made a mistake on this but now I can't even imagine ordering any tobacco flavored juice.
I'm apparently a pretty light puffer based on all the comments I've seen here about how the 401 just doesn't give a good enough hit. I can choke myself on it if I want. 3 second drags feel pretty good.

I will admit that I had 5 analogs left when I started with the ecig, and have since finished them off. Never made it more than halfway through one though before realizing I didn't need to be smoking them. I think I was trying them more out of curiosity / comparison rather than an actual urge. As disgusting as the last one was, I don't seem myself buying them again.

I also admit that if whatever they have done to them wasn't irritating me so much I might have had a harder time letting them go. This, for me, is just so much better in every way so far.

Yikes, sorry that got kind of long winded didn't it.. anyway, good luck to all of you on weaning off the deadly ones, I think we can all do it.
